  1. Kept it in a coma and on life support but also chased away the same guy saving us now 15 years ago? He set this club back years and gave it no chance to improve.
  2. Yep. Not to put a dampener on things after the weekend but the contract length for some of these players is extremely concerning, hopefully we’re able to shift some of them on but you’d imagine they are all on good money. That’s not me criticising anybody for their performances this season, but there have clearly been a few mistakes in recruitment and whilst I think we’ll brute force our way out of this division, talk of already having a squad to compete at the top end of the Championship is clearly a long way off the mark.
  3. Pointless burying your head in the sand. The season is now effectively done and dusted, everything from here should now be a complete procession, unless things are even worse than I thought. There is a reason the bookies have had us favourites the last two weeks, it can’t be seen as anything other than a failure to be out of both competitions at this stage, I’m pretty sure the club for the money they have spent would have expected to beat York. Some of the recruitment, including the coach, now looks incredibly naive sadly. How can Ellis show up on the opening day of the season looking like he does? If you were worried some of the players might only be in it for a payday he doesn’t exactly allay those fears. I think this season should have been much more on younger players with a mix of older heads up the middle, it would have stood us in much better stead for the Championship next season. It’s now concerning that some of these players are on big money two years deals.
  4. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a side get dominated quite like this and manage to be 10-6 up.
  5. You’d imagine the optics are better for the women’s game if they can get a few shots of a semi decent crowd in waiting for the men’s final. They already know they’ll get a few thousand fans in for say, an Oldham vs Wakefield final in the 1895 cup.
  6. I think it’s very much as advertised from Long so far, a strong dominant pack and not any more expansive than we need to be. I don’t have any issue with it and it’s serving us well up to now, our pack are a joy to watch, being able to bring guys like Farnworth on and rotate the Chapelhows is pretty fearsome.
  7. Cash on gate is fine, £20. Enter from Broadway side when you get off the A627M and I believe parking is £5, or there is a small car park across from the retail park if you get the early enough and can walk over Clayton playing fields to the North stand. Pubs aren’t great around the ground now to be honest, you have the Rifle Range and a couple of others but they are a 10-15 minute walk, best option by far is the fans bar in the North Stand, queues aren’t the best for beer at times but there’s some live music and should be a decent atmosphere.
  8. What is the record score in this fixture? Out of interest.
  9. Fantastic win! Pitch was a real leveller and some excellent kicking from Barrow kept them competitive but our strength and class showed in the end.
  10. I don’t see this being close now the players have been able to get up to speed. 28-10.
  11. Taken down. Did anybody get a picture?
  12. Love the traditional kits but real shame about the badge as mentioned. I wonder if a bigger rebrand is in the pipeline for next season and that’s why they’ve left it? Still, could have at least removed that awful PowerPoint shield.
