Saintslass
I'm Benjamina in a sweep thingy at work. If she stays the course I get a tenner. If she gets dropped my colleagues get to experience my baking on a Monday morning, poor sods!
Mark S
I was talking about GBBO with a client, we agreed that it's basically an hours worth of harmless entertainment with no requirement to work out what's really going on or put much thought into it. They seem to have steered clear of the "wacky" characters altogether this year, just 12 people who are good at baking. Which is no bad thing. Futtocks
Spod alert - I wonder how many people got Tom's 'Dune' reference. If the baking doesn't work out for Selasi, Radio should hire him as a continuity announcer. Great voice. Futtocks
I wanted Selasi to win, but he went out last week. And the best baker in the final took the trophy in the end. C H Calthrop
I don't watch much TV but I have just seen some bearded Scouser have a dramatic pause before announcing "that's a good cake", I'll assume i'm on topic.

Padge
I like the early rounds with bake off and lose interest the fewer that there are. Is that because there are fewer car crashes to watch? Maximus Decimus
Is that because there are fewer car crashes to watch? I think so. I think I like the variety of characters and bakes too. I don't think I'm that bothered about who's the best. Don't feel the same about the apprentice, that tends to keep me interested and I do want to see who'll win. The Apprentice is about charmless, incompetent sociopaths making fools of themselves. It is aimed at a different audience, really, despite both being reality shows. JohnM
The Apprentice is in my view excellent. Sugars money comes really from property, and for all his talk of business acumen, he's not the guru he seems. But he is a no nonsense sort of guy that can smell bulls hit a mile off. The apprentices are like lambs to slaughter! Hes surrounded himself with some very able people, though. My favourite is Claude when he gets going on the interviews. The thing that amazes me is how the apprentices don't seem to prepare. Surely that have watched the show before, know what happens, where the trips and traps are etc. All they seem to be bothered about is their personal appearance. Not one of them seemsto know the first thing about leadership, delegation, communication and project management. Laugh a minute!,,,,
