Didn't know Rugby League had made its way into the Canadian military. Great news to see Poland hosting an international.

Where abouts is the Recz Stadium? Hopefully the Canadian Armed Forces will be looking to play in the FOWC next year!

Game was a great success and covered by local TV.  The Canadian Military are keen to play other games and nations before they return back to Canada.  They seem to have really taken to Rugby League.

Warrant Officer Philippe Dessureault contacted the Polska XIII through facebook about opportunities for playing Rugby League.

 

They invited them to training sessions and then the 9s.

 

This lead to playing an international.  

 

Social Media is massively driving the expansion of International Rugby League and an aggressive social media international development plan is something the RFL are massively neglecting.

There had been some discussion earlier this year about Forces rugby league games in Alberta.  With several units at BATUS (Suffield, Alberta) every year this also has the potential to turn into a regular thing and help to grow rugby league in the Prairies.

The Ontario Provincial side will be playing the Northwest English Lionhearts on Wednesday the 17th August at Burlington RFC.  A great chance for those aspiring to, or were just outside, selection for the Wolverines.  An extremely tough game for them, but will be a great experience.
