  1. Early season weather has been torrential in SL and NRL. But that's not so unusual. What is odd is the lack of a pearl-clutching thread about how there are twelvety times more injuries than usual so far this season, despite all the statistics showing otherwise. That hasn't appeared yet and we're a few rounds in already.
  2. There are others listed, like Catalans v Leeds, maybe for inaugural SL matches against each club. Quite a nice set to complete.
  3. There are even some match-specific ones! LIKE THIS
  4. With Cleary out, this was a good chance for the Roosters to break their losing streak against Penrith, but it looks like the champions have outplayed them again.
  5. The Roosters haven't seen much of the Panthers' tryline for most of this game so far, but Sitili Tupouniua gets to a Walker grubber, seconds before before half time. SYD 06:14 PEN at HT
  6. Very fast and aggressive start from the Panthers, leading to a Turuva try, converted by Edwards.
  7. This match is free to stream on SL+ without a subscription. You have to create an account and sign in, but it's a taster for the uncommitted.
  8. I'm not sure either, but will be very interested to find out.
  9. Yep. looks like the + in Superleague+ was there for a reason.
  10. Veteran Aussie Rugby League journalist Ian Heads, aged 81. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2024/mar/26/ian-heads-death-tribute-bio-nrl-illness-rugby-league-week One of just two writers inducted to the Rugby League Hall of Fame, Heads helped shape the way Rugby League was viewed for nearly half of the code’s existence in this country. The wordsmith’s historical books gave weight to the game’s past and he was honoured with an Order of Australia Medal.
  11. The Guardian's been pushing its foreign reach, especially in Australia which is why their NRL coverage is the best of the British newspapers. Politically, it is reviled noisily by the Right and Left, both of whom think they thought of it first.
