  1. News of the Combine recruits. 2 female 2 male. Good luck to them. Should be a great experience and I hope they make it! https://www.sasktoday.ca/national-sports/canadian-rugby-league-international-megan-pakulis-off-on-australian-adventure-8437625
  2. IIRC, Ian Leneghan was invited to a TO meeting/meal to explain what TO needed to bring to SL. One of his points was to bring a television deal. That tends to make me think that Catalans hadn’t had to provide one (details of the Tender) so TO needed to. This was not a hard and fast requirement though as IL just went over as a representative of SL clubs. IMO, as good as these SL owners were as businessmen, collectively the weren’t as organised or forward thinking as they should have been.
  3. Yes. 2000 season. I think PSG went under 1999 and the Dragons tendered in 2005 and came in for the 2006 season.
  4. It must have been thought through as the RFL invited French clubs to tender for a place in SL after PSG finished. Catalans won it. I would have thought the details of this discussion would have been in that Tender and answer your question.
  5. Not a bad summary. It started with the hooker gobbing off to the Ref, then followed by another player doing the same, Sheffield scored and the tone was set.
  6. Three different things. Managing a budget, coaching players and fanbase expectations. Which one is it? Other than skill, speed and compatibility a key factor is player/ego management. He might find it different at Saints but I think Rowley has always been an excellent attacking coach and an ever improving all-round coach.
  7. You might try these. https://catalansporttours.com/ I think it’s a bus travel only from whatever airport they pick up from but there are others on here that know more.
  8. Good review from New York! https://nypost.com/2024/03/03/sports/nrl-shows-rugbys-potential-in-america-with-vegas-doubleheader/
  9. It’s in Yards rather than Metres. I think it made 25sqm less space.
  10. Pretty sure the hands/arm waiving are coached. One team I’ve watched this year immediately adopted this from the kick off. Just ordinary tackles trigger the arm waiving.
  11. This is where it’s confusing. Thaler continually lectured Bradford and Widnes players about their actions being dangerous (about 5/6 head highs) and gave penalties. Other Refs in SL gave penalties as well as issuing cards. No players from the Bradford v Widnes game charged. Seems clear to me that the RFL officials are dealing with the same issue differently!
