Canadian international Ryley Jacks 'The next Cooper Cronk'

Cooper Cronk won me 5 beers on Monday night.

We go to a quiz in Adelaide City centre an throughout the quiz we have 4 or 5 'oi' questions were the quiz presenter gives one clue at a time and you shout 'oi' then give an answer.

After 3 clues I shouted oi and shouted 'Cooper Cronk'. Being in an AFL state the presenter looked astonished that I got the answer and the rest of quiz teams just sat there in silence wondering who Cooper Cronk was.

For the saddos out there the clues were:

1. I was born in Brisbane in 1983 and attended St Laurence College where I played Rugby Union

2. I was signed by Melbourne Storm and made my debut in 2004 - at this point I thought it was either Inglis, Slater, Smith or Cronk

3. In 2096 I won the Dally M Halfback ... then I knew it was Cronk

So cheers to Cooper Cronk for the beer.

Fair dos to him though, a mere 113 years old!

This is a Stanley Gene thread now?

I played a season in Adélaïde at the central district roosters in 2002! Great people, I lived with the president and his family between Elizabeth and gawler ! Memories!

The Roosters are still 'oop north' covering the Elizabeth/Salisbury area.

A few years ago I went into the Parafield Bunnings store (think B&Q) and I had my Queensland jersey on. A well built staff member came over and asked if I played RL. I said I had played. He said why don't you come along and have a run with my local team.

I said i'd love to if I hadn't been aporoaching my 50th birthday!

P.S. Something for you Barnyia. I live on Mawson Lakes about 15 minutes south of Elizabeth and 30 minutes south of Gawler. My mother visited us and we took her out in the car. I pulled onto Main North Road and there is a large road sign that states Elizabeth with the word Gawler beneath it. My mother turned to me and said 'Who is Elizabeth Gawler, was she famous?'.
