phildog
That's a disgrace IMO, signed in a blaze of glory, has a very decent game against runaway league leaders when we're unlucky to lose then never comes out of the cupboard when we've struggled at centre. Strange......

Strange...... There's a negativity to every single post you make Phildog. If he was good enough and fit enough he would have played. He needed a club, was given a chance and didn't make it. You banged on for 2 years about Jay Leary also, he was given a chance, was nowhere near good enough and moved on. Some of your negative posts are getting more bizzare as the rest of the club, board, fans and players are ecstatic about where we find ourselves with 1 game to go. All you can find to post about is a squad filler leaving and blaming refs or conspiracies about the RFL not wanting us to do well.

At this level, a coach has to pick his team based upon what he sees in training and what he feels is the XVII that can do the job. It would appear that John Kear didn't feel Casey was better than the other options available to him. Signing a player doesn't necessarily mean you have to pick him - especially if they were signed to add cover during an injury crisis. I don't recall Casey signing in a 'blaze of glory', either. The fact that he's ended up back at Hunslet should tell Phildog all he needs to know..... What I'm looking for is someone who can contribute to what England has given to the world: culture, sophistication, genius. A little bit more than an 'ot dog, know what I mean? phildog
You don't quite get the point. If they're not good enough, who's misjudgement is it in the first place? Casey was good enough to go straight into the team and against Leigh, not any old also rans, and do well. I'm not negative, after 55 years following Batley I know just how good and buoyant things are just now but can't see why we appear to have such difficulty in attracting loan players sometimes; it often seems that other club chairmen only need to sneeze and a player turns up with a hanky. We've struggled for weeks at centre yet when a proper centre finally gets back in the side and has a decent game, 2 days later we sign one! In Casey 's case when he came we were down to about 16 players that were fit enough to play so it was a case of getting whoever was available at the time and chucking them in the team, yes he may have had a good game but maybe his attitude in training after wasn't quite right only the player and the coaching staff will know about that. If we have been chasing players from other championship clubs it will more than likely be the case the other club wouldn't release players to us as they are or were competing for top 4 place hence why JC was allowed to go to Cougars rather than to us on loan and i'm sure we would have done the same if other clubs were trying to loan our players Stoopid Cup Winner 2012
phildog
Spot on with Jonny, we wouldn't have let one of ours go Bulls or Fev in same situation. Could do with Matt D persuading him back though!
