  1. Quick shout out to Ryan Sutton's start to the year. 200m at the weekend. Averaging 140m and 31 tackles a game so far and already dotted down for a try. He's making it very hard to bring Horsborough back into the team if he carries on like this.
  2. Some first half stats by Farnworth. Been one of the best centres in the NRL the first 3 weeks
  3. Sutton always puts in a shift when he plays. Think he was the best forward on park for metres too. Should keep him in the team for a bit anyway
  4. Thought Farnworth looked very good this morning. Especially when he was at left centre before Coates went off injured. He put Mead away 3 or 4 times and handled everything that was thrown at him too.
  5. I love Haas, Pangai JR and Flegler. Lodge goes well too. Theres literally no reason why they should have been that soft. To me it all came down to Seibold. 9-12 should be the aim for them this year and then move on from there. Once you get into that 3rd quarter it makes the next step forward much easier.
  6. I did think this myself. Especially when they asked him what an acceptable position to finish would be. Hes hardly going to turn around and say "top 4". He was diplomatic, plus it always takes a while for teams to bed in with a new coach.
  7. I think that team is a much better team than last year showed. Sounds like Siebold overcomplicated things and they lost confidence. They arent a top 8 team but I dont have them bottom this year. Maybe Walters more simple approch will help? Maybe not though. One thing I like is that hes got some of the clubs ex great captains back involved. For a young group, having those guys around the club should help things.
  8. Yeah, if anything, the worse case would be dropping to the wing and taking Meads spot. Just with Jessie Arthurs still in the picture too its a lot of decent young giuys to fit into 4 spots. Staggs is due back midseason but who knows what happens there, especially with him probably leaving at the end of the season (hopefully to Belmore)
  9. Theyre stacked with good young talent and will get better year on year. Big problem is the halfs though. Croft isnt really anything special and has Dearden breathing down his neck and Milford is what he is. A fullback playing 6. I can see them having a better year but cant see them getting near the 8. Missing Haas for the forst month woint help things either. Looking forward to seeing Herbie get a good shot this year. Not sure he will keep his spot when Staggs is back though unless he makes himself undroppable.
  10. What you have to remember about Luke is that he's been injured for pretty much 3 of the last 4 years and is, what, 4 games back into his NRL career? He's been getting better week in week. Lets see how he's progressed over the next month and talk about him then. On the same note, when Tom came into the team he looked solid if unspectacular. Now he's having a similar impact to George when he takes the ball up. It may be a season too early but jeez, these 2 are going to carry that South (and the Test) pack for years to come.
  11. Good on them for giving life bans. The amateur refs do this for the love of the game. He'll have got £20 at most for the privilege of driving up there to get a beating. The sad thing is, he's only a young ref and is bound to make mistakes but this will probably put him off ever officiating again for life.
  12. Did anyone else facepalm when they read Sykes name?
  13. James Child is an International TJ and has only just started reffing in the SL this year. Hicks is the same. He has only had a few SL games this year but is predominantly a TJ at SL level and refs at Championship level. Tim Roby is another TJ in the SL who is a Championship ref and will probably get a SL game in the next couple of seasons. Its pretty much how it works if you are willing to do it that way.
