  1. Played at both teams many years ago and had a good craic at both. Good news that they are pushing forward but they are not alone in struggling for players. It is a real shame that both can't retain their own identity at open age level. A great initiative from both parties though.
  2. It has certainly got the interest going, a party of our lads are going to Vegas for this one.
  3. It was my first visit to Huddersfield for a game and I a m afraid it wasn't a great experience There was no atmosphere at all pre game and the stadium it self needs a bit of TLC, but the staff and stewards were efficient and friendly. Game was as expected and i thought the England defence was superb and we should alll be proud of Waney and his squad as they did us proud. On a final note we stayed in the ground to salute the players after the final whistle but unfortunately only half of the team took timeout to thank the fans . A lot of disappointed youngsters in our area. Enjoyed the game itself but a poor choice of venue for what should be one of the season highlights.
  4. The NCL awards luncheon ceremony takes place at Old Trafford cricket ground on grand final day. This may be of interest to you. Del capo is the man who will give you details.
  5. Agree with everything you say celtic. As a committee member I can confirm travel costs along with match official fees are killing NCL clubs. At one time both these was subsidised by the league supported by the RFL . This along with lack of player commitment and fewer spectators is killing clubs slowly.
  6. Very true Pahars, hopefully we all can keep our clubs doors open.
  7. Always enjoyed Millom and had some great craic at Dewsbury Moor. Finding that the beer prices in a lot of clubs are getting quite expensive recently.
  8. I have 2 sons who both recently had to have 6 weeks of work due to injuries. Ironically one was injured playing masters,it has been their choice to play most of their lives and they don't regret it even though they have had injuries,. That is each individuals choice. The problem these days is that players are just not interested in rugby and other things take priority. I don't see that changing in the future.
  9. At community open age level things look a little bleak to me. The commitment required to play at a good standard does not seem to be in the player's. I know several club coaches who regularly struggle to put a team out each week. It may be the same in other sports and just the different mindset of young people today. I hope I am wrong but I believe that open age mens rugby is on a downwards spiral.
  10. What a brilliant effort from 2 legends of our sport. These 2 guys truly show what real friendship and courage is all about.
  11. Thanks for your hospitality yesterday, all our players, officials and spectators had a great day out. Got the makings of a good side under the guidance of our old mate Muzza. Good luck in the next round and the coming season, from us all at Ince Rose Bridge.
  12. Spoiled coverage by commentators mixing the teams up , making it difficult for the neutral spectator's to follow.
  13. Tragic news our thoughts are with Logans family and all at Hensingam Rugby? RIP from all the Rugby League family.
