Hudds - England v New Zealand

So that's 24,500 tickets sold as Huddersfield's stadium already has a giant TV screen for the video ref already built in like at white hart lane so it won't affect the capacity or am I imagining things??

Not quite - The BBC studio rig in the corner of the Britannia stand will take up a few hundred seats at least.

I thought Hudds had a to studio built in as well?

Either way, great news for a sell out. As much as this could have gone to a bigger ground, based on the other venues chosen this wasn't a bad choice to deliver a sell out and create demand elsewhere hopefully.

Nottingham Outlaws Rugby League

Harry Jepson Winners 2008

RLC Midlands Premier Champions 2006 & 2008

East Midlands Challenge Cup Winners 2005, 2006, 2007 & 2008

Rotterdam International 9's Cup Winners 2005

RLC North Midlands Champions 2003 & 2004

Don't the RFL also have a policy of announcing a sellout when only single seats are left.

I think this sellout proves that English fans aren't sick of seeing the kiwis after the 3 test series last year and that this match could have easily gotten over 30,000. I just hope this is the last time that England will face the kiwis on home soil in a stadium with a capacity less than 30,000.

Where though? Wouldn't get this many outside heartlands. Can't think of many stadiums with 30k capacity. Old Trafford, ethiad, Anfield too big. Even or Leeds about 38k.

And let's not forget, it's only sold out with 11 days to go, so it's not that there was huge demand that sold it out in weeks and we had thousands of missed fans! Although the marketing strategy of RFL is a separate debate that could be had relating to this ....

for a Rugby League event, a sellout with 11 days to go is almost unprecedented.

I know it's all ifs and buts, but had this been one of the games to be played outside of the heartlands instead of Coventry and London then I would have played it at Newcastle's St.james park if available. As for stadiums in the heartland there's Ewood park, bramall lane, elland rd and the reebok stadium.

I await the next test when they go to bigger venues and people complain it's not sold out...

But wouldn't you want 35,000 in a 50,000 capacity stadium and the opportunity to grow the crowd overtime than selling out 20,000-25,000 stadiums??

Oh I don't care, plenty do though

And to be fair "sold out" is a good way to make news

Having a 3/4's full 40,000-50,000 stadium wouldn't bother me either but I just think that England v NZ has outgrown Wigan, hull and Huddersfield.

Whilst i think some of the scheduling is appalling, they have shown more ambition for the England games than for quite a while.

24k capacity at Hudds, 30k at Coventry and 55k at London. Huge ground for the final too.

It wasnt too long ago we had three 24k grounds and we have also played GB games at QPR and Watford.

Are Blackburn, Bolton and Sheffield "heartlands"?
