Things might get very interesting indeed

"No word of a TV deal yet, but Perez said there’s been talk of other Canadian rugby teams joining the league from perhaps Montreal or Atlantic Canada in the years to come."

The more the merrier!

AFAIK there is currently no RL presence in Quebec or Atlantic Canada, the only states other than Ontario are British Columbia and Alberta.

I'm not sure what you're saying Evil? The number of places RL had no presence in until recently is huge, and now they do, which is amazing. Especially when you consider how many of them had to cope with the darker elements as well as the simple problems of setting up a club, a league, a governing body!

Let's crawl before we walk never mind run!! If Toronto succeeds in terms of delivering crowds, gaining promotion and grassroots development of RL in both Toronto and Ontario then cities like Vancouver, Montreal, Winnipeg etc should and could be looked at but let's not get ahead of ourselves and set ourselves up for an even greater fall if this all goes T#ts up.

Crazy. We should concentrate on the Toronto heartlands. Why should we expand beyond the Highway 401 corridor. It's a perfectly good road between Toronto and Quebec.

There are no trams between Toronto and Vancouver.

Expansion? It'll never catch on.

Still very early stages yet, but hope some SL clubs embrace the possibilities within a city like Toronto and support the Wolfpack, maybe with a pre-season camp over there similar to what we've seen in places like Florida.

There's massive scope if Toronto works.  Remember that even the CFL need big population centres to support their teams, so there are plenty of decent-sized cities in Eastern Canada with very little professional sport in summer.

Of note is that there is no CFL team east of Montreal (there have been failed attempts before) and Newfoundland has no organised gridiron.  St Johns, Halifax (imagine a Halifax v Halifax game!), Moncton, Sherbrooke...could be winners in the future.

Of course the reason that clubs go to Florida is for warm pre season training. I think Toronto in January may be a tad cold

I would like to see British Columbia next... but lets not jump the gun just yet... lets take one club at a time.

The only unfortunate about this all is that canada isn't in the world cup next year. That would boost things.

Was thinking that myself as the boost it would have given not only Toronto but the Canadian national side would have been huge. It's a bit like Scotland qualifying for the 2016 4nations but like Scotland the US qualified fair and square.

Does anybody else think that with the 2 expansion sides of Toulouse and Toronto that we might see super league revert back to being a 14 team competion?

I was thinking more along the lines of exposing themselves to another market. Extending their business/partnership network etc, as Wigan are trying to do with London. Obviously a bit different as its another country.. but sure there are possibilities out there.

With the way things are going...I believe its time to remodle the super league.

In others have create a Rugby Premier League above super league..12 teams pro and relegation, with 2 french teams and a larger salary cap. And all games telecasted on TV...

RPL 12 teams, SL 10 teams, Championship 9 teams, L1 9 teams

Seems to be heading that way with potentially Toulouse and Toronto going full time when they reach the championship along with Leigh and Sheffield being full time. Aren't Halifax full time as well?

Rogers Centre (fka Toronto Skydome) could configured to host an indoor RL game in January/February. That would be an awesome SL season opener.

So everybody seems really excited at the Super League now being a hub for World Non Australasian RL... Where does this end, what's your idea of the end game?

Would people enjoy seeing:

Challenge Cup Final - Toulouse v Monreal (in Paris)

Super League Final - Toronto v Jacksonville (in Atlanta)

If these other nations such as France, Canada and the USA get the necessary interest in RL, they'll want it all. You'll get your noses pushed out and the cash they'll throw at the game will be small fry to them, but overbearing for English sides.

Imagine if the Super League contained only 2 or 3 English clubs struggling away at the bottom, would everyone be delighted due to more of the World loving the game?

Canada should side up with the USA, they should work together.

Really, the priority should have reigniting interest in those areas with latent support, making sure Cumbria have a strong presence.

I see this experiment either flopping hard, or people getting their wish and having their noses pushed out.

Alright Mustard?

"Would people enjoy seeing:

Paris yes please bit dear but, if you'll pardon me, mustard! Already looking forward to a Biere blanche outside the stadium!

Atlanta maybe but certainly Florida I'll have a bit of that! Can't wait for for Lousiana, Cajun and whatever other cuisine will be available round the ground.

With any change you need to guage carefully what works, what can be allowed to change and what will cause too many problems. There are always thousands more reasons for not doing something and that's why so many thing are never tried or given up on before they've had a chance to thrive. There is a huge love affair with all things North American that can benefit RL, a story and potential like this makes it hard for the UK press to ignore us as easily  as they have in the past.

Now, a lot of this is of course pipe dreams but that's lightyears better than "But you might get eaten by a grizzly in Yosemite National Park if one of them plays in SL!"
