Glen Stewart announced at Leigh

Good signing. Still a season or two's hard graft left in him.

It just looks like he wanted out of the Catalans.

Glenn Stewart said: “I have loved my time in France. The Dragons have been really good to me and my family but my son, in particular, needed a bit of help with the language barrier and as regards his schooling he needs to be in a country where English is the primary language. Catalans were kind enough to grant me a release and one thing quickly led to another.

It will take a few years to get SL quality players through the academy, but to do so we need to be in SL. Decent pack taking shape, need a few pacey backs a half and a huge prop now

You'll only be taking academy kids off other local Super League clubs. Too many clubs in a small concentration

How many clubs outside of SL have ran Academies, with the exception of the 2 relegated teams in Bradford and London? We had a scholarship side a few years ago with Joe Burgess and Tommy Makinson featuring but didn`t the RFL refuse sides outside of SL from having scholarship teams.                             No doubt plans are already underway to get the necessary Academy pathways set-up.Seeing as Wire have already tied up with Leigh Miners Rangers,I`ve heard that Leigh will partner with Golborne Parkside and Ince Rose Bridge for that purpose.

We`re on a road to Nowhere.......................

Well if that was the signing that was going to make the rest of RL sit up and notice, then I am seriously underwhelmed. As for a pack that won't get bullied, it's full of ageing penalty machines already, another one won't bother the opposition too much.

He's actually a decent player. No frills and will be good for Leigh.

Can't make my mind up whether Leigh have been slow letting Wire in first, or it is a "Judas" act from the Miners, I am sure Derek Beaumont has sponsored them in some form the last couple of seasons, and secondly why not Leigh East after all they play at the LSV?

I heard the tie up has resulted in one training session, if only they had waited or has the anti Leigh top table agenda there come back. Derek helped out the open age with the sponsors area
