Gotta say, and I know I'm biased after coaching the lad for a long time is that I think Phil is making a mistake with Nathan he has the potential to make a top class hooker but phil just didn't see it in him and played Karl and Doran in front of him and as.specialist hookers he is streets ahead of them

I hope the lad makes a success at haven just on a personal note and he'll.be better than anything they have at the moment.

Pete Williams knows this and this is why he's taken him.

From Nathana point of view you can't blame him for going

"Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius -- and a lot of courage -- to move in the opposite direction."

"Imagination is more important than knowledge."

"We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them."

"Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence."

you can't pal, he's been with us 2 years and never really got a sniff, if haven are going to play him more then he's better off there and coming back in a year or 2 as the finished article. I think we must have a hooker I'm the pipeline, no word on matty staying and even if he does I think we need another 2 because there's little chance of him going the season without injury. Unless of course he's just going to use Doran there when we sign sammut

the futures bright, the futures blue and white

I was amazed he never got more of a chance to be honest.

Sorry to go off topic but this quote from Cotter in tonight's paper made me laugh.....

“We are going to be training hard, almost full-time, to be able to compete with the full-time clubs in the division.

Now correct me if I'm wrong but isn't "almost full-time" actually part-time?

Same terry . Always sparky whenever he played. Had the confidence to scoot away and cause a few problems to ruck defences . I just couldn't get my head around why you wouldn't play a specialist hooker when you had one available . Square pegs in round holes rarely work , and that bit us on the backside a little in terms of our threat with the ball . Would have liked him to stay tbh , real potential long term there .

I don't think JD is a 9 at the moment. Callum and matty or callum and a new signing at 9 for me.

Yeh I know you lot don't rate newts but he is good prob not as good as matty and callum who are both class Nathan should get a run out week in week out either starting or off the bench Thomas Coyle had some good games fast hands just no real pace Nathan as that so just see how it goes

It took me a while to convince Mags he was good enough to play 1st team at Glasson but it's just different opinions and Phil knows the pro game better than me.

Ive worked with Pete Williams a few times and he is really good with young players so he'll help nathan no doubt

In Monday's League Weekly PV was quoted as saying he expects Matty to sign in the next week or so (he is having his operation).

My opinion of young Lucock is that he wasn't ready for Championship rugby league and he would have probably gained more from going out on loan to Barrow or another Champ 1 club.    He certainly has the makings of becoming a good little number 9 but I can't remember any memorable moments from him in any of his few games with Town.    He didn't come in and boss the game like Callum for instance when he first got his chance.   Best of luck to him though and hopefully he will get more game time down the road.
