"Rugby League is rugby in the simplest form in the sense that it's about great defence, great tackling technique, good handling, good passing, catching and great kicking."

Right, we're off.

Ten minutes into the second half of that Raiders/Manly game it looked like it was going to be a landslide, but Canberra took their foot off the pedal and the game settled with Manly taking some chances and being able to regain their feet.

Injuries to DCE and Jamie Lyon will have soured the day for Sea Eagles. DCE didn't come back for the second half and then had his ankle in ice. Lyon went off half way through second half.

Result in Game 1:

Raiders 30 - 18 Sea Eagles Home Win ( Poll: Margin of victory 12 points)
