My words to the boys before kick off would be this "I expect a full and comitted performance from you.I want you to give your all like the Bradford match. Some of you will be wanting contracts after the season well I tell you this start performing now and convince me you deserve one.Now get out there and do the club proud .This is the game you can definately win."

When a shock win is pulled off it's usually because the victors wanted it the most. Fev were really up for it in the last 3 games of the regular season, but since then there's been a general attitude of "whatever happens we've already done enough", while the Rhinos and the Giants have been like dog with a bone. They might have been playing like over-paid freeloaders early in the season, but now their jobs depend on it they have fought tooth and nail and a narrow victory has not been enough, so they kept going right to the end.

No matter what we say, Leigh will want it more than us on Sunday so it could be much tougher than we think. If you think about it logically, all the full timers will be up for it far more than they were in the regular season.

I just hope the 6th, 7th & 8th places are not decided through teams easing off once they are certain to finish in the top 3.

All this talk about players coming in and leaving will not help team spirit.

It's business end of season Colin, players come and go, they have to look after number one (themselves) and bag themselves a good deal, a rugby players career is a very short one and they've bills to pay and families to look after.

Im Fev and im proud

TBH there's only one competive game and that will be at Batley to see which one of us end up at the bottom. I wouldn't get to disheartened we all knew deep down what was likely to happen in the middle eights the thing is we got there!

We, Leigh, had a number of players last year who didn't want SL as they believed they would be out, between then and now they have been replaced with those that do. If you are going FT next year, which is the only way to grow, then you may have players with a similar mindset but I expect a right battle on Sunday, and fear a much slower game than what we should be seeing

Why? If you mean because of how it's refereed, refs for SL and Championship games have been pretty much interchangeable this season and to my mind it's a myth that games are officiated differently. SL play-the-balls are faster partly because the players are more athletic and fitter, but also the ball is moved around much more leading to more one-man and two-man tackles, whereas at Championship level you see more one-out rugby ie drives from the first or second receiver, leading to three or more men being in the tackle, which naturally causes slower play the balls.

If a team deliberately delays the play-the-ball, they will be penalised regardless of whether it's SL or Championship. The speed of the play the ball is dependent on how the tackle is made. If the attacker wins the collison and falls forward, he's going to get a quick play the ball or a penalty. If he's met by three defenders, loses the collision and is turned on his back, it's going to be a slow play-the-ball. That's nothing to do with how the game is refereed.

You only get 3 or more in if the PTB has been slow and messy. Doubt you will have got 3 or more in at all so far, keep the teams apart and let the best team win

Apparently Davies has got two match ban for dissent to ref ALL WE NEED

Hope Spears is fit as this is a massive blow. More of a loss as that extra pivot to Ellis. Why isnt Robbie Ward playing? Havent seen enough of him to make my mind up yet there are one or two players getting games every week in the backs who clearly arent up to it(or for it).

I was once on the point of being sent off for tripping Don Fox who had gone inside of me and at the side of the scrum. He tripped over the props foot not mine and the ref was wagging his figure at me. I must have looked innocent as I was let off with a warning. Sharlston v Featherstone Under 18's 1951.

On the handicap, it's Leigh -12, which looks a great bet to me.

12 start looks a bit 'skinney'.

Hope we don't concede points in last 10 minutes of first half like in first 2 rounds - have to still be in with a shout at half time!
