Bulls press release says he'll still be working for the Bulls foundation.

Suppose rock bottom is a pretty good foundation?

This world was never meant for one as beautiful as me.

When someone like Robbie Paul leaves the club that he obviously loves there must be a problem. It's been quite sad this season reading of the documented problems at Sheffield and York as well.In a previous post by John rhino that Bradford are bust, hope this isn't the case.It makes me wonder where it's going wrong, are they living beyond their means?.I think this may be the case with Sheffield and Bradford, you can only spend what's coming in.The lure of superleague must be just too strong for them.Just imagine what Leigh would do without Beaumont. It's a false economy.

Bulls Foundation is a charity, he is continuing as a trustee not employee.

Is it the right time for the Bulls to do a Glasgow Rangers or Wimbledon FC, i.e. shut up shop and start again at the bottom with a members consortium, there are two model's there that are not doing to badly since closing the doors and starting afresh.

Flawed business models. The club is ripe for a new members ownership model.

Not a chance. No way on this planet would you get any combination of x members times y annual contribution to make it work. I've modelled it in the past (with access to internal financials, and for real) and you either need far, far more memberships than any realistic expectation, or a far, far higher annual membership contribution than all but a small handful of members would realistically pay.

The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wise people so full of doubts.

Bury your memories; bury your friends. Leave it alone for a year or two.  Till the stories grow hazy, and the legends come true.  Then do it again - some things never end.

I presumed Robbie leaving was the follow on from his family bereavement. Until anything else comes out then I'll wait and see.

But by all means run away with this.

It's not like any facts are required, not like a Challenge Cup Final attendance.

I think that had a great deal to do with it.

I wholeheartedly disagree I am sorry. Firstly, some of the biggest sports clubs in the world run this model and at one stage or another were only the size of Bradford right now!

Can this model work for the club in the Championship right now? Probably not. Could it work in the division below. Absolutely.

The beauty of this model is that whilst the fans own the club, this does still not write off the the opportunity of benefactors voted onto the board of directors by the members. These benefactors usually contribute to the club both financially and with direction.

I'd love to see your outline costings and budgets for this?  In particular, how you have overcome the killer "catch-22" issue of the lower the division, the fewer supporters are likely to be interested?

There might be SOME chance of pulling it off if the club already played at a modest, decent soccer stadium (like Rochdale), provided the rent etc was realistic.  Or if we had a local authority that was, or was in a position to be, supportive. For Bradford and the current, much-reduced support base, it would definitely mean a move away from Odsal.  Valley Parade would almost certainly be totally uneconomic; Horsfall might be practicable, but I doubt would be attractive to more than the diehard fans.  Beyond that, we'd likely be sharing with Dewsbury, losing the Bradford identity and connection.

Lets say you needed £1/2m capital and £1/2m annual income on top of gate receipts and all other income sources.  That means getting 5,000 people to pay £100 each as capital, then another £100 every year starting pretty well immediately.  On top of season tickets etc. Or 500 people paying £1,000 each as capital and another £1,000 every year starting pretty well immediately.  Or some permutation in between. That would probably fund a small club with very modest ambitions, with almost certainly attendances a fair bit lower than even the levels to which they have now fallen.

It is potentially do-able; but IMO it is very unlikely you would achieve anything like those numbers. Only a small part of the existing, so-called diehard fan base, has joined the existing Supporters Trust - and that only costs £10 a year!  I think you MIGHT, just might, get the initial capital raised, but its the ongoing annual commitment that I suggest would be the killer.  That was the conclusion we reached when we looked at this, anyway.  The option on the table then was to take a small minority stake in the club, but the idea of a supporter-led takeover was also floated.  Been there, done that, realised no way could afford the tee-shirt.

Maybe the Bradford supporters who frequent this site might wish to comment on the likelihood or otherwise of achieveing something like this?  Maybe they will think I am being unduly cautious and unambitious, and am giving too much weight to the traditional Bradford reluctance to get involved?

The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wise people so full of doubts.
