30 Jun: SL: Huddersfield Giants v Hull FC KO 8pm (TV)

Recommended Posts

No topic started yet for tonight's game, so I thought I'd start one.

Shaul, Watts and Ellis are injured/rested for Hull. Naughton will play full back, and I reckon Bowden will start in the front row with Thompson and Hadley on the bench and Frank back in the starting line up.

I'm under no illusions that Hull will lose eventually, and with a couple of our talismans out this will be a tricky game, but Huddersfield look like a bit of a rabble atm, and if we really are as good as we think we should be we should be winning this without too much drama.

Hudds 16 - 26 Hull

As a Hull fan I am still waiting for a banana skin and I have been spotting these for the last couple of months without actually slipping on one. With Catalans playing Wigan this weekend its a truly massive game.

As pointed out Hull have a handful of key players out but so far this season it hasn't really caused much of a blip. I didnt think Huddersfield looked a bad side at all when they came to the KCOM but I think it has to be advantage Hull if Huddersfield without Danny Brough.

With Sneyd we often end up with an odd number so Hull by 13.

I'd like Hull to really go for it here, Hudds are struggling and are minus Brough so, although there are no easy games in SL, we should win by at least a couple of scores.

As usual though, I've got my lingering doubting head on, so any early scores from Hudds and I'll be panicking.

Hudds 14 Hull 28.

Man, I hate those words, but at least you didn't put "potential" at the start which really gets my goat.

Cue plenty of posts including this now.

We know you are one to kid others but there's no reason for being gruff about the deployment of a hoary old cliche.

Butt out.

"hoary" - that's my word of the day!

FC should win, though there is a really good Giants team waiting to get out one of these days... If they can rediscover their magic form, then maybe they can win.

Odd that this time last year, this was a home win, move on game.

One has to be careful about the social context when saying the word 'hoary' out loud.

I fear Hudds will get tanked.

Giants by 10 - no Brough mis firing and that really poor half back Ellis and Wood take the line on and have a laugh, running rings around the Tank chap!

Jerry to have his best game, Wardle to keep hold of the ball and look interested and Eorl to run sub 90 seconds for a ten metre burst

More importantly as a Giants fan- NO GRIX - yay! Lads a long way off when he's fit nowhere near match ready

Always feel pi$%ed for Leroy - the mans a winner and has been the one consistent performer over the last few years - doesn't get enough praise his stats don't lie

Still, Giants by 10 if they are in it by half time, otherwise Hull by oooooh! 45

Shudds walk one in.  Somebody needs to go out to the car park and get the Hull team off the bus.

Potentially, Hull could win this, but they are currently trailing 8-0.

Interesting first half that. When I watch Leeds I can see why they are doing so badly but the Giants always look like they have a good structure, and can attack. Wigan were lucky to play them when low on fit bodies and then in somewhat controversial circumstances at home. They are a good team and are well worth their lead.

We've looked a touch flat I've seen us play worse halves of rugby this year and win them. Huddersfield have been very good, particularly in defence.

If there's one thing I've learned from watching Hull this season it's to never write them off. But at the moment it's not looking too clever. That said Huddersfield have invested quite a lot in this game already, and Hull almost always finish games strongly.

8-0 at ht, about right in my opinion. Hull have had the territory, by Hudds have defended very well. The weather may well play a big part in this game.

Has one of the teams never played in rain before?

Hull getting to the right areas of the field but looking flat in attack. Credit to Huddersfield their goal line defence has been very good.

I'm sure I read some comments from one or two Huddersfield fans that they weren't that concerned about losing Connor. All I can say is I'm very pleased you have.
