How can Hull FC be getting so much wrong?
sentoffagain2 replied to Roy Haggerty's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
HOW CAN HULLFC BE GETTING SO MUCH WRONG.They have had plenty of practice so are rather good at it now.It must be hard for Hull FC supporters now that KR seem to be getting most things right. -
I counted 3 forward passes by Leigh and the ref let every one go.One of ours was flat at worst and never forward.Agree about Aekins at full back i said to our young un his defence was very poor. One effort to tackle was feeble which they scored from and other times covering behind the defensive line and not in the line.Often Minikin had to come inside because Leigh had three or four on two.But a good performance from the players we couldn't have asked for much more.

You are right just checked and i have mixed the assets and liabilities lines up on the graph.Thought it was not like us to have such a big operating surplus.

2017/18 season we made a profit of 83k so the club can keep its head above water now that the dream of SL has gone for good. However the RFL don't help when after we play FAX at home we have 4 successive away fixtures .Players who have a valid claim must be paid but i won't lose any sleep over owing agents money.
-
Start of 2021 we had a debt of 770k.then 2022 debt increased to 1.3 million.and last years accounts not in yet but i would think the debt would be 1.7 to 1.8 million. The gamble for SL which i was not against has probably cost the club a million pound over the last two years. However the club has a decent credit rating of very low risk.Get the players paid.

I would think the CEO one Martin Vickers.Been reading up on him and it is interesting from 2013 onwards. The shareholders whoever they are must try to influence the club to pay players owed money. The club shoulder borrow if necessary to clear the debt.

We had that a few years ago, someone who wanted to obtain a majority shareholding in the club in return for investment.I think the supporters saw through it before MC but before any real damage was done the club decided against the move.
-
Agreed our player selection was poor and to play through the season without a settled half back partnership was suicidal.MC will have had the main say in players and coaches. But if the players had put in same effort that the present ones did against Wakefield and Batley we may well have succeeded.

Featherstone always had to sell their star players to survive. The years when we finished 2nd to Salford and then beat them to finish top in the late 70's i think attendances were just over 4000.MC was unlucky two years ago we beat Leigh in the first game of the season. Then Beaumont got the brass out and recruited some really good players to improve the team. And it came off for them they dominated the league and won promotion.MC had to have another crack at it with Leigh out of the way and only Toulouse as stand out challengers. We won the league with 12 points without really playing very well in most games.I repeat the players were good enough but when the pressure was on failed to perform as hoped. We blew it big time and overspent by about 500k on budget.Featherstone own the ground and some surrounding land. All profit from the bars and club house should go into the budget. They are a lifeline to so many in the local community and aslways offer the ground for amateur finals of all ages.Debts must be settled in full and whoever decides to take a punt in investing in the club probably wont see much return. But their knuckles will be white from the roller coaster ride.

Club Statement by Mark Campbell
sentoffagain2 replied to marklaspalmas's topic in Featherstone Rovers
Not always agreed with the way our club was run.But over the years no one could have worked harder than Mark to try for SL and make Rovers the best they could be.To take the gamble for SL over the last two years was a gamble he had to take. The fact Rovers are not in SL is not down to Mark but on the day our players who were good enough came up short.
