Huddersfield Giants captain and star player Danny Brough has passed his level 3 refereeing course and will officiate games in the Championship from June .

Danny will combine playing with refereeing , something he does very well during games , until he retires in 2017. Giants Coach Paul Anderson has agreed to let Brough take charge of games on a Sunday when the Giants play their games on a Friday .

If the Giants go into the middle 8 then Brough will referee games in the Championship Shield .
Referee coach Steve Ganson said 'we were all impressed with Dannys knowledge of the game and he was always keen to give us his views whilst playing in games himself '.

Whilst out injured in the early part of the season Danny spent time at Billy Smarts Centre for Refereeing excellence to hone his skills .

Danny was unavailable for comment when we contacted him .
