  1. I'm sorry...were you not at the game on Monday!!? Looked like we had too many playmakers at one stage! Lindsay, Groom, Cook in the centre of the field were ace. Not to mention the contributions from Dane McDonald, Ropati, Misi...
  2. Obviously I mean "Just what the doctor ordered" - damn these fat fingers!
  3. I'll have whatever Mark put in the drinks at half time! Wallop. There was some champagne rugby out there today. Well done to all the 17. I came into the ground worrying about the lack of Jack, Mitch and Sam...only for the "replacements" to put on an outstanding show. There's some real competition for places now. Danny Mills put in some hard work. And Alex Rowe...Biff! Not a bad crowd either considering...
  4. Great game. Really enjoyed it. So proud of the players - they worked their butts off and kept taking the game to Wigan. There was plenty of opportunity for heads to go down, but this didn't really happen. Good to see Menzie and Richie clicking on the left hand side. I've had my doubts about that combination but it sure payed off. The forwards put in some hard graft. I can imagine that Ged was disappointed not to make it into the 17. The Wigan fans were really quiet for the first 20mins of the second half, but I think they started to get a bit worried/frustrated when Barnett got his brace...then the drum started. I was amusing to hear some fans around us whineing about the ref - saying that he was our 14th man. Yawn! And we got the famous "Wigan Walk" too! Mind you, if they haven't paid, they probably don't mind leaving a few minutes early...beat the rush to the coaches on Bramall Lane...
  5. Now now...violence never solved anything. Well I'm looking forward to the game today. Will have to slap on some sun cream I think, being as though we're all sat in the sunshine in the north stand. Hope everyone enjoys the game. The perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon [especially after a hard morning's graft beneath the golden arches!]
  6. I appreciate you fellas using your discussion of newspapers to keep this thread at the top of the pile...maybe we can stay on topic though eh?
  7. Thanks for those detailed answers Eagleraider I agree that it is a shame that nothing was mentioned about Richard Lee's work at the DVS. He did a fantastic job [and a mean Elwood Blues impression too ]! Will he not make one last appearance at the DVS against Barrow on June 27th???
  8. Glad you enjoyed the occasion sthelensliam. I'm sure those points will be helpful to the matchday staff. I too couldn't decide where to sit but I'm sure we'll all get used to it after a few games! Enjoy the game against the pie-eaters on Saturday!
  9. [Had to re-register my account...hmph ] Some discussion on another part of the forum: http://www.totalrl.com/index.php?showtopic=200641 But wondered what my fellow Sheffield fans thought of the occasion. I enjoyed the experience [if not the game ] - the closeness to the action, the facilities for the fans. I wasn't too impressed with the match day annoucer though! Is Richard Lee not allowed at the Lane? The big screen was a bonus too! Looking forward to the Wigan game. Hope any new or returning Eagles fans stick with us through these exciting times!
