ckn
Being held in Abu Dhabi, the crowd for England v Pakistan is just man rather than man and dog. I think seriously that there are more photographers and video camera operators than spectators with most of the spectators being their as freebie invited guests. A true case of money over sense. All to suit a few egos. "When in deadly danger, when beset by doubt; run in little circles, wave your arms and shout"
Bedford Roughyed
And the fact that Pakistan can't hold home games. With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!
Phil
And the fact that Pakistan can't hold home games. Why's that? Futtocks
The non-spectators may have a point - today has been a long hot plod with little incident. Trojan
And the fact that Pakistan can't hold home games. They played a home game at Headingley. tim2
Matches like these with pitches like this one will kill test cricket "I am the avenging angel; I come with wings unfurled, I come with claws extended from halfway round the world. I am the God Almighty, I am the howling wind. I care not for your family; I care not for your kin. ckn
Pakistan with a last afternoon surprise mini-collapse with some unexpectedly poor shots. I wonder what the odds are on that happening. Futtocks
England need 99 from 19 overs, although the real winner will be bad light. But this could be fun while it lasts. glossop saint
How slow will these overs be bowled? I'd be surprised if there is 10 overs before the end!
Futtocks
England have to swing a bit, and have lost Buttler and Ali already. 29 for 2. Futtocks
Pakistan to drag the over rate out, l wonder if the umpires will call bad light? Some magnificently blatant time-wasting so far - it all adds to the gaiety of nations. Up 'til today, this was a truly lousy nothing of a Test match. Now things are happening! D Collins
Cricket the worst run sport on the earth? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/34562700 Bad light stopped play. Sounds like an explosive finish...after the five day marathon. They had the floodlights on...and Pakistan had delivered the overs slowly...ahh feck it let's get the hell out of here. All played out in an empty stadium. County cricket is played in empty stadiums. Most test matches are at least half empty stadiums. But for the Ashes (especially a home ashes) the sport would be all but dead in the UK. See you in three and a half years fellas. And yet...noting is done to bring this Victorian game into the 21st century (at test level).

The "bad light" situation is ridiculous and the pink ball floodlit solution may not be the answer. Futtocks
Pakistan having to play their 'home' fixtures abroad isn't the fault of Cricket, so poor attendances at this series can't be paid at the sport's door. I'm looking forward more to England's tour of South Africa after this current series, which should see some tough matches and decent crowds. Futtocks
I was expecting this series against SA to be really tough for England... Ben Stokes with a 163-ball double ton. Jonny Bairstow approaching his century too. England 513 for 5 at lunch. Let me never fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted.
