HomeOfTheTubularBandage
A day out in Blacpool would be great. But it will be a real test and a threat to the home record.

Totally agree, they are a good side but if we play for the full 80 minutes we'll be a match for anyone.

The Art of Hand and Foot
Not a bad game from two reall committed sides. A couple of really high bombs was the difference. North Wales put pressure on our defence as the ball came down with snow on it. We seemed to be camped out on their line in the first half while playing down the brew but just couldn't make it count. Two quick tries for them in the second half put us on the back foot. But we pulled on back with 4 minutes to go, but alas it was too late. Onwards and upwards as they say. Roughyeds Return
Good effort from the lads - Dallimore's high bombs put the pressure on us particularly in 2nd half. Unfortunately brute force wasn't good enough to unlock a well drilled Crusaders defence and we need a bit more guile at half back and some planned moves. Our defence was good again and we can take some positives from that and a decent start to the season. COME ON OLDHAM!!!! COME ON OLDHAM!!!!! neversaydie
agree with all of the above, credit to both teams Oldham so close but not quite able to turn pressure into points. They do need a little more guile. Some of their play was a little too predictable. However if Crusaders are the top team ? On this display we are very close.
fiftiesremembered
Two very committed sides, but not a lot of flair anywhere.Perhaps unlucky with the bounce of the ball a couple of times?Unfortunate that the only really good break in the game (by Tyson) didn't get the try it deserved - don't think he was greedy but just couldn't get the ball out to Palfrey, who would surely have finished. Enjoyable game overall - and I really do try to ignore the state of the 'stadium'!
TOSH1960
Cracking match. The kicking game was the difference between the two teams. The high bombs and the kicks to the corners, found us wanting and showed our lack of quality in that area both on attack and defence. Great game though and no one can knock the commitment of the lads. The defence apart from kicks was excellent. Looking forward to another good season. swann5
Good game between two good teams could have gone either way , thank you for a great welcome as usual different class, good luck for season looking foward to seeing u all at Wrexham. it is no wonder our high bombs gave u trouble it was a bit dark in second half down the end u were defending ,
gogledd
Absolutely fantastic game - if a nail-biter - both teams put heart and soul into the 80 minutes. Oldham could quite easily have been the winners and perhaps with a few minutes more could have broken our staunch defence. Sorry we couldn't have joined you for a few beer after but I'm sure we'll catch up with you during the season. There was no gloating from the Cru fans who knew very well they had been in a tough battle. The "we're going to Blackpool" songs didn't start until the final whistle had gone and more in relief to be honest. Finally the match officials were excellent and made good decisions for both sides. See you all soon.
HARRYRUBY
It was a good game that either side could have won. The sin binning did not help us but I cannot agree with the coach saying it was a bad decision. Its a new ruling for this season so the referee had no option but to give the yellow card. Whether or not its harsh is a different matter. If a player is committed to a tackle its hard for him to pull out of it. The referee should be able to use his discretion. Personally I think that that all this tinkering about with the rules is spoiling the game.
