We got out of jail today.York were the better team for most of the match.

Jonny Preskey ran the games and tore us apart at times. He didn`t deserve to be on the losing side.

It`s a hollow win but wel done to the boys.we`ll take it.

Got to disagree (for once). Whilst there was no doubt that Pressley ran the whole game and was unlucky to be a man of the match and on the losing team.......thought the Lions were vastly superior in the second half and without a break away try the length of the pitch York never got close to Swintons intensity and power in that second half. York had a very good territorial kicking game but the whole second half Swinton we madd 80 yards in 6 plays with York unable to get out to half way in response.

Some poor passing and the resulting knock ons kept the game closer that I thought it was in that second half.

How unfortunate that it was Pressleys error that led to the Lions win....now that was cruel.

I don't mind stealing bread from the mouths of decadence.

For the tears that you are crying now,
Are just your answered prayers"

My heart is still in my mouth after yesterday. What a game, it had it all, intensity, brutal defence, bit of biff, enthusiasm, passion - I could go on. And it was from both sets of lads. A true semi-final display and indeed puts the RUWC games to shame. Either team could have won, and if York had been kicking better then I'm sure they would have taken the spoils. That said, Lions were not at their best (which needs to be sorted for Sunday) but thankfully our 2 playmakers had their drop-kicking boots on! I was resigend to the loss at 12 seconds to go until White popped it over to give us a lifeline. Then the rest is history as they say, with Atkin stepping up to finish it off in extra time. We did take some injuries though that are a concern for next week, with Butt, Morrison and Gallagher all hurt and White limping badly along with a heavily strapped arm after the game. Lets hope they are all fit for next week
