York City Knights future

Recommended Posts

I've heard a rumor that is the ex CEO of Wakefield John flatman and current owner of featherstone rovers Mark Campbell. I've no reason to doubt any of this as it came from a reliable source.

Didn't think you were allowed to own more than one club?

I heard they had a new buyer over this weekend and some players are set to sign next week. I hope thats a rumour that comes true.

I really hope so for York's sake.

Looking at the fixture list, each club has a bye weekend which presumably will be taken up by York City Knights once they have things sorted.

Home or away, I look forward to seeing Crusaders playing the Knights on 26th March.

Good luck.

Should the chairman go ?

Well in any other business if you were evicted from your premises and fallen outwith the people who had taken you in, as well as those you needed to develop

new premises and alienated the majority of your customer base, I would say that you would be lucky to reach the next board meeting

If the staff were quitting and going to your nearest competitors, you would be

lucky to still be in the job at the end of the week

If that was not enough but the umbrella organisation that you relied on, failed to even show you existed in next year's planning then I think the taxi would

already be ordered

However if you are sole owner, you can survive even incompetence as shown above.Your organisation would however not survive

It may well be RIP Knights. I hope not as with New Earswick folding and Heworth having dropped a number of levels, the very existence of the game in the city,

is under threat

Pleased to hear New Earswick still going

Have they moved to summer as not in Pennine League tables or fixtures

Yep. They were struggling for numbers in Winter plus the weather ruined the pitches last season. Great little club, a strong pro club in York could be a huge boost for the amateur game.
