  1. Really enjoyed that second half. Like the way Salford go on the front foot as well and the flat ball to second runner to get the extra yards. Really effective and troubled Wigan who were lucky at the end with the brain explosion from Salford.
  2. Salford and Swinton should be allowed to bed in a bit longer before introducing another expansion club within the M postcode area.
  3. That’s what I was I was alluding in prior post. Shouldn’t he also then say surrender? Watching with sound down!
  4. “Verbal instructions to resolve doubt 6. If any doubt arises as to a tackle, the Referee should give a verbal instruction to “play on” or shout “held” as the case may be.‘ This bit? He couldn’t have been held as he wasn’t touched. Unless a hand on his back was enough. I think he was fair game for Smith.
  5. “Voluntary tackle 4. A player in possession shall not deliberately and unnecessarily allow themselves to be tackled by voluntarily falling to the ground when not held by an opponent. If a player drops on a loose ball they shall not remain on the ground waiting to be tackled if they have time to regain his feet and continue play.‘ Yep. It’s still in the rules.
  6. Late night typo for Hot Chocolate. It was the coldest despite waiting for the bolier to heat up for the whole of half time. The bogs were 2 plastic portaloos balanced on top of something but they weren’t steady. Appreciate that Hurricanes obtained a prestigious address when they moved their, but the community pitch is definitely more on the amatuer side of semi-pro. Hope the move next door works for them.
  7. Good to hear. Have to say that in the not very much zero temperature for the Wigan “warm up” game, I was distinctly underwhelmed with pitch side standing, and rocking portaloo, and the closest hot chocolate I’ve had the accident to taste, whilst looking longingly at the empty stadium next door, which I hope would have much better facilities under the stand as well as pitch facing.
  8. I suspect because Aus Super Rugby isnt’t considered to be the “big time”
  9. Reference was to a Guardian article. I was referring to BS from RU in general not hurting RU generally. Not specifically US game.
  10. Not sure how he got to write that. About 2 years since he was last publsihed and not an obvious RL CV https://petermitchellmedia.com.au/bio/
  11. What and where? Millions wasted would only be relevent if a loss and not deemed a success. First point yet to be confirmed, second point appears that annecdotal evidence suggests it has been a success, whatever measure you use. Even if it loses a dollar or a million, that looks like a good investment to me.
