  1. Oddly enough we, Oldham, did the same and it seemed to work a treat. Craven, standoff at full back and Astley, full back at stand off.
  2. Also, looking at his reaction, I think this is when he tweaked his hamstring.
  3. I reckon , without that high tackle, it had try written all over it. Well worked move as well.
  4. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/6irvGSKyAaAtbHag/ Hmmm. This reel came up on my fb page. I don't know whether there was a penalty awarded. Looks high to me. Nb: you may have copy link to see it. Hall/charnock high tackle on Elijah Taylor close to the line. Some comments reckon it was a penalty try.
  5. Tbh, it's not just Oldham fans, it's fans of other teams and the bookies. We beat Halifax and Barrow in competitive matches. Drew with a full London team in a friendly. And beat Keighley, arguably our nearest rivals, again in a friendly. Lost to Swinton and York and suddenly we are deluded, not that good and unfit!!!? For the first time in a quarter of a century we have hope and we're not going to give that up.
  6. Good luck with that. It was vodka!
  7. When you think about it, we beat Halifax and barrow, then lost to Swinton and York. So in effect, yes we are mid table championship.
  8. I'm reminded of when Blackpool panthers under Martin Crompton had a good cup run and it totally ruined their league performance. So let's focus on what's importance and that's the League. Perhaps we were all drunk with expectation. The problem now is other teams know we can be beaten and they will up their game.
  9. We've got six points on the odds.
  10. That's what I thought. But this is from the game report on the Oldham FB page. And after just one Oldham mistake – a high shot on Abram – Alan Kilshaw’s men took full advantage when a George Roby grubber kick was pounced on by another former Oldham man, Lewis Hall – formerly Charnock
  11. Just out of curiosity, what's the story with Lewis Charnock now Hall? Didn't realise it was the same player who played for us!
  12. Good analysis from Longy. Worrying about the the two injuries especially Taylor!! Could be out a few weeks. But then again an opportunity for the fringe players.
  13. Basic school boy errors gave Swinton the momentum. We're allowed a couple of howlers in a season, let's hope that's one out of the way and hope the next one won't be in a crucial match!
  14. I can't remember, but what happened to him?
