Hoping to make it to the Skolars game. I remember seeing Skolars get a very narrow victory against Keighley a few years ago in fairly horrible weather, with a penalty a few minutes from the end. York & Cougars must be favourites though.

Firstly a very impressive Cougar turnout. You drunk the bar dry (altho i am sure us Skolar fans did our bit). A close game. Felt Cougars wanted it more than us. Errors in second half cost us tries (altho we did benefit from some poor ref decisions, one leading to a try). All in all a fair result, a good afternoon of RL with a fair crowd. (nice to see Skolar mini players and their families there).

Deserved win for Cougars, who led for the whole game, and although it was close, I felt the result was never really in doubt. Skolars showed rather more flair and inventiveness than Keighley, typically making a lot more ground on their six tackles, but made far too many errors, a couple of penalties for foul play in the tackle when they had the ball being particularly crucial. Keighley's tries mostly short range efforts, but a really nice kick against the grain of play to wrong-foot the defence for the clincher at the end.

Good number of fans from Keighley, although a vocal minority who seemed to have eyes only for the ref and no clue about the rules of RL, presumably a morning of drinking on the coach helped there. I'd find it a bit wearing if I had to listen to it every week.

To be fair there were a few poor decisions but I know what you mean! The group behind us were relentless!

Good assessment of the game. The errors were disappointing but was pleased with the performance and players commitment. Enjoying this season a lot more than last two.

Agree with the posts above - a good afternoon of RL marred slightly by the Courgars fans whinging about the ref.

First time I've seen Skolars this season and they look like a half decent side. If they can specifically tighten up on their tryline defence they should make the play-offs. One word of caution though - I think Jy-mel Coleman is a bit of a liability. Several of his "no look" passes led to errors, he kicked selfishly for himself a number of times and of course he is unfit and overweight. Is he only in the side because he is the coach's brother?
