  1. I am surprised no one has thought about the teams playing in soccer stadiums. fixtures can be seriously disrupted when the season overlaps. Full seasons at the same time would be a logistical fixture nightmare for some clubs.
  2. Nah, I have seen plenty of winter rugby in my lifetime and nostalgia is OK. But you would soon get sick of watching mud wrestling week after week.
  3. That means you have done us three on the trot, albeit a long time between games
  4. You are correct, that the one. He was a York lad I seem to remember . Everyone was bogged down in the mud like today but that bloke was the only guy who seemed to run over the top of it.
  5. Could have been that one, if Geoff Wigglesworth was in the side back then. Even that game is nearly 50 yrs back By the way you lied to me you told me the pitch was not a mud bath
  6. Big wake up call for Powell, don't think Wakey got their tactics right today. Now here is one for the old uns, As far as I remember the last time Wakey played Fev in the cup at Post Office Road was late 60's early 70's ish. Wakey also lost that day as clear favourites and Fev had a great performance from a back called Wigglesworth. The conditions back then we're identical today and the rumour was the local fire brigade had been heavily watering the pitch all night before the game
  7. The problem with you Fev supporters is that you don't know what a good pitch looks like, never mind one that is flat and full size.
  8. With all this rain, should be the usual mud bath at Fev . I can envisage a dour contest
  9. I think you have misread me there Morris. Their constant financial support is an issue ,BUT from a rugby side they seem to get things right. I do agree with others that these bail outs are not sustainable and as a club thy need to address this sooner rather than later.
  10. Which ever way you look at things regarding the constant financial support they get from the local authority. At least on the pitch they seem to be doing things right. I also like their style of rugby and enjoy watching their games.
  11. Lovely try from the scrum. To think some numpties were wanting to scrap scrums.
  12. Good half of rugby that .I wonder if there was sufficient NUANCE for Wilkin
  13. Normally yes, but in this case it's a gift not a loan
  14. I would be interested to know how the council have got around the legalities of this. Surely there must be conditions and stipulations, for instance how it will benefit the wider community. Councils are not allowed to hand out money unconditionally to any individual or private companies.
  15. First time Ive seen the bloke but I think he did a good job, seems better than some of the more established super league refs. I didn't see him get a bad call all game
