Gateshead Thunder are proud to announce that Joe Brown and Gavin Beasley have re-signed for the 2013 season.

Brown, who will enjoy a sixth season with Thunder in 2013, made 20 appearances for Thunder last season scoring 5 tries in the process.

The London-born Jamaican international first signed for Thunder in 2005 under then Head Coach Dean Thomas. He is also the Community Rugby League Coach for Sunderland & South Tyneside and feels that Thunder and the surrounding area is now well and truly home.

Brown said:

"I am really happy to re-sign with Thunder which has been such a big part of my life for a while now."

"I have always felt part of the family at Thunder and that I am a valuable part in the clubs growth both on and off the field."

"Kevin is putting together a good squad for 2013, but we know that it is our hard work and commitment that will stand us in good stead for next season."

Brown, who now becomes one of Thunder's longest-serving players with his re-signing, is joined by one of the clubs newest players.

Gavin Beasley joined Thunder in April 2012 after a distinguished career in Rugby Union.

The former Newcastle Falcons and Tynedale halfback made 11 appearances for Thunder in 2012, scoring 1 try and 11 goals in his debut season.

Beasley commented:

"Joining Thunder this season was a breath of fresh air and a new challenge for me on many levels."

"I was made welcome into the club straight away and felt like I had be part of the organisation for a long time."

"I am delighted to have re-signed and I'm really looking forward to getting back into training."
