There still some real journalists around - the Mail campaigned for years over the Stephen Lawrence case, which was hardly the kind of story they are known for as a rule.

Apart from the crass headlines they often run and not withstanding it's right wing stance, the mail has often campaigned against corruption in public life

When the Mail does journalism it's excellent. Unfortunately it hides too much editorial opinion under the banner of "journalism"

'Institutionalise corruption' seems a two way street these days -

Scotland Yard is considering whether to launch a criminal investigation into claims that the Independent Police Complaints Commission deliberately suppressed evidence that would have cleared officers in an inquiry into alleged police misconduct.

But then you get classics like this in today's Mail where they show "proof cycle lanes are lunacy" because they're actually far more effective than cars in busy cities these days.

It's always worth pointing out that the 'road' taken to be converted on the Embankment was, for most of the day, a coach park so it wasn't used by moving vehicles at all.

The reason congestion has risen is because in the last 20 years the number of cars registered in the UK (ie not off the road so in use) has doubled.

Anyone see the headline article in the Mail following the judges decision on BREXIT ?

Absolutey awful.

In another (golden?) age, it would have been considered treasonable. Hang the editor and all his journalists, I say!

In what Golden age was that?

Hence the question mark! There never was a golden age. Whoosh!

It seems the Mail on Sunday takes a completely opposite view to that of the Daily Mail.

They do quite regularly, you really would think they had two different owners going by the content at times.

Front page of Mail today. Completely unrelated to prison staff day of protest and current violence at Pentonville and elsewhere I assume...

And some wnak bank fodder for its readers on the centre pages as well.

Then you get days when the Mail decides it has a new target and uses its old targets as positive role models.  If you didn't feel uncomfortable reading that tin-pot racism then you may need to ask yourself why it's acceptable to target an entire ethnic group.

I've seen this story in a few papers Craig. I read about it in The Yorkshire Post and The Guardian and it was also on Calendar recently.

If they take the same tone then they can go fornicate themselves as well.

When I was working in London on Agency, I never owned a car, because public transport, combined with cycling was far quicker than driving. For example when I worked at Guy's Hospital, and livening in Uxbridge, the thought of driving to work was beyond stupidity, I cycled to Hayes & Harlington Station, put my bike on the train, and cycled from Paddington to Guy's, total time one hour. Especially if you know the short cuts that by-pass all the bottle necks around Trafalger Square, and Hyde Park.

I rarely used cycle lanes because Taxi drivers think they are Taxi lanes, and ignore cyclists. I once had a patient in the anaesthetic room, and I asked him what he did for a living, when he said he was a taxi driver, I said I was a cyclist, He said "Oh S***,, I'm in trouble now".

Rush hour traffic in most of our major city centres are at a standstill, cycling, either by bike or motorbike is much quicker.

When I was working at the London Clinic I had a 125cc Scooter, and sometimes the builders vans would drive past and give me some abuse, along the A40, but once we got to Hanger Lane/North Circular Road the traffic was at a standstill for 3 miles, except for bikes, and I gave them some abuse back, knowing they would never be able to catch me.
