  1. Yeah I get that, and your obviously right. But I do also think there was more "spare" cash to divvy up then as clubs were run on much less costs. Either way lower league clubs are going to have to change the way they are run going forward, but it's not impossible to do so.
  2. I still don't see the unnatural, unacceptable or however you want yo describe it, he's absolutely not led with the knee, it's just part of his completely natural body position for a tackle like that. I get that you maybe cant claim an accident as mitigation at times, but accidents on a pitch do and will happen, its just the nature of the game. It opens up a can of worms for me, will the Disciplinary now be expected to rule on all accidental contact, or just ones leading to injuries?
  3. I'm wondering how much the impact of Sam Burgess is a receny thing. Every player in the squad will have seen him play, will know about his attitude and will to win so is it likely to be easier for him to gain buy in from players who will have huge respect due to him only retiring from playing at the very top a few years ago?
  4. To be fair it was combined with much lower running costs to enable clubs to be sustainable, there's a huge amount if oncosts for sports clubs now that didn't exist a few decades ago, or weren't as costly at best.
  5. I don't think anyone is questioning him being talented, just the hyperbole around him being a generational talent. He is a loss to his club and possibly national team, not really the sport, no player is ever big enough for that in my opinion.
  6. Yeah. You would never get snide digs in would you....hypocrite.
  7. Ridiculous to even put him in the same conversation as those 3, though not surprising given who it was.
  8. Id love to know your opinion on what's an "unnecessary tackle" on a rugby pitch.
  9. Because youve just randomly made up a completely different incident to defend your point of view, which is a complete waste of time and utter nonsense.
  10. Of course its completely different, the only way(s) he contacts the ankle is likely to be deliberate, or really really badly mistimed. This one is a complete accident, or at worst a bit reckless.
  11. So if he had done something completely different no one would have complained, what a bizarre post.
  12. Not really, he goes another steps in.
  13. I was thinking more the RFL making Toulouse and Catalans pay for opposition teams travelling, taking the easy way out with Cornwall and the cup competition to not upset established clubs etc.
  14. As opposed to how open minded everyone is to expansion the last few decades, that's gone really well hasn't it, with the RFL actually putting things in place to stymie it where it looks like taking hold. And the fans eh, they're so welcoming and open to new clubs all the time.....
  15. I meant more the inside the 10 from a kick thing, they were being much more lenient if a player just stood around. I get that sort of, but even not interfering could take the attention of a defender. Imagine if Ellery Hanley played now, he'd really struggle with the downtown rule, he spent half his time in the defending teams line when his team had the ball...
