Chief Executive Carl Hall spoke about some of the topical issues in rugby league as one of the season showpieces – The Challenge Cup final – becomes the centre of attention on Saturday.

Carl on…

The narrow win over Keighley Cougars: “I don’t think we played particularly well…but we did a job.”

Leigh’s promotion hopes: “I’d like to think and hope they can get up, so it gives the other clubs something to aim at.”

Why the Challenge Cup has global appeal: “The final is huge, especially in New Zealand. We used to put a mattress in the lounge and wake up at 3am to watch the game!”

And who he wants to win: “We wish Lee Radford and all the players and staff at Hull FC all the best for the weekend and hope they can bring the cup back.”
