  1. Yes I noted that too, really ungracious and unnecessary from Lam, they'd just survived a scare and gone through to the next round - would it have killed him to say something nice about how we pushed them all the way? Apparently so, not much class unfortunately. Agree re Leigh deserving it, but there wasn't much in it - massive credit to the lads - and but for some of those 'marginal' calls going Leigh's way who knows what might have been. Good luck to 'em anyway in the next round, I'd rather they win it than a bl**dy Wigan or Saints. Again (yawn).
  2. More chance of re-signing Kyle Briggs. Not sure I can bear the thought of getting tonked twice by Wakey in those first few weeks (of the season proper), but the Reynolds fiasco makes it feel like the club has given up for the time being, so looks like a double-tonking it shall be. When you think what a complete waste of a SL place Wakey have been for the past 25 years, I almost don't begrudge them their new found sugar daddy.
  3. I second that amen. Not only did we do all that ourselves, we did it without a penny of Supergreed's Danegeld, while Trinity spaffed a quarter century's worth of sky money up the wall, with so little to show for it they eventually had to bounce the council and it's partners into re-building them a ground. No doubt the cost of this will eventually be passed on quietly to the unsuspecting council tax payers of Wakey and the Five Towns. They should be ashamed.
  4. Agreed Col, sounds like there's definitely a player there if we can get his development right, at least with the squad size we have currently he's likely to get some decent playing time, which is most important of all. Looking forward to seeing how he goes.
  5. the benefits of living near a farm shop. Still a toss up between Tomkinson's and Stalag Luft for me, but they were all great, obviously. Gold from a golden age.
  6. Madness. Just that. Still, coming from the same studio that brought us Ford/Aekins as the preferred half-backs, nothing would surprise me.
  7. Think it's a case of will not could, and I'm amazed that with fit halves available, and so close to the crunch, we're continuing to play Aekins there, as he's so obviously ineffectual/playing out of position. Can't stress enough that that's not intended to be any slight on Aekins either, he's a superb full back and needs to be playing, he's just not a half-back. I feel for him.
  8. 1. Chizzy - showed his class, what a difference it makes having a quality creative half back in the side. 2. Moors - a very welcome return, looked to be getting back to his unplayable best. 3. Hau - like Moors looked unplayable at times, and was absolutely everywhere. Special mentions to Springer for his superb efforts driving us forward, and Johnny D (another welcome return) who gave us what he always does.
  9. Every club has some fans like this. Every. Single. Club. However it's clearly a very small minority of Fev fans (as is the case with every other club). Certainly wouldn't condone our own branch of Morons-R-Us having a go at a players wife and/or kids, if that was the case (allegations like this posted via the ever-poisonous format of social media are not evidence of anything), but as always we should take care not to blow things out of proportion.
  10. Not a bad shout, we do need someone to sort out the matchday entertainment.
  11. I had rather hoped that we might be angling to bring Watts in this season, he'd have been a cracking addition to the pack as we built towards the end of season crunch. Not so sure about Massey, but anyone who can bring SL quality to the squad and on-field performance has to be welcome.
