Lezignan v carcassonne

Recommended Posts

Pity the weather spoilt what would have been a great day, it should have been packed with 400 people eating before, under 9 and 11 games between the under 20 and first team game,

To say it rained a little is an under statement! post-32727-0-02403400-1480923306_thumb.jpg

I went to Limoux v Albi and it was a smasge contest if a little low on quality. No rain in sight and mid teens in temperature. Thought the Albi six was their best and the numbers 8 and 11 went well for Limoux. Bit larger crowd than I expected say around 700.

They're already face booked on a few French rl enthusiasts pages they aren't my photos,

Feel sorry for the player underneath the 3 carcassonne players,

They look like they're wrestling an alligator. Is that Jean-Philippe Baile in the middle of the three?

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Alberola doing a decent job at Carcassonne. Fling the ball about too – youth and all-French. Hakim Miloudi once again to the fore with a brace of tries in the wet – think he’s comps leading try scorer  presently (10)? Albi have four antipodeans – Mika the prop younger brother of the lad who plays at Toulouse and Henry ex-Bradford in the centres. Outside the Catalan/Aude areas teams like Albi, Villeheuve Avignon struggle a bit. Always thought the Federation could make an exception for them to even things up a bit. Avignon played with midfield trio of Aussies in big win against Catalan minnows Palau Saturday but SOA lose players all the time to Dragons and Aude clubs.

St Gaudens win against Dragons U23s was surprise and encouraging for the promoted side who appear to be improving slowly. Think they got 3 antipodeans on board helping them to get re-established – decade back they where Elite 1 Champions. Saw Albi early on and looked poor at ASC but giving Champions Limoux a decent game yesterday again encouraging. Villeneuve were poor last term but helped by the return of prop Massolot from Toulouse have improved.

Mentioned before Catalans presence everywhere especially in the Aude clubs this year. The other thing too is that blokes like Fakir/Stacul/Vaccari/Elima who all played at the Dragons later stayed put instead of returning to the Aquitaine region and Villeneuve. FCLs Bonnet is from Provence like Pala who after his travels hasn’t returned to his roots now at St Esteve.

Still can’t see outside the present leading five for the honours this year –Avignon at Carcassonne this coming weekend should be worth a look.
