RFL flogging CC final tickets for £10

Recommended Posts

Apologies is if this old news, but had a round robin email from the RFL today with the following:

Excitement is building ahead of the Hull FC v Warrington Wolves clash at the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup Final on the 27th of August at Wembley Stadium. The Rugby League family and friends are filling up the stadium and we have limited seats left in the upper tiers.

As a big thank you for being a valued supporter based in London we would like to offer you the chance to buy the last few remaining tickets at a fantastic price of adult tickets for £10 and concession tickets for £5. Offer only available for 48 hours. Use the promotional code LONDON at checkout.

This works with Category 3 (£50 tickets), not just the lowest priced.

Shhhhh!

You're not supposed to tell anyone. In no time at all, it'll be abused by those nasty northern, unwashed folk wanting to save a few quid.

Tut, tut.

They've done this before, usually the tickets are towards the back of the upper tier so it probably will work for the £50 tickets - 4 blocks I think.

Still a good deal though

There were seats available in the lower tier on the RFL website after they announced it was sold out. Just 1 block though in the corner which these tickets probably are

Is this game such a hard sell? If its only worth a tenner its hardly worth viewing?

Mind you the game really is in a mess when the top team can only sell 10, 000 seats the week before a Wembley appearance. And some of those where at a big discount.

I really am worried when Wigan v St Helens in a top 4 play off fails to pull a crowd on a Friday night with no M62 excuse.

How did you find the M 62 trip to Salford last night? Was there much traffic?

I think Steve lives in Swansea mate.

Otherwise, that would have been a good shot.  :)

John M probably thinks that trip involves crossing the Pennines on the M62 as it is a mind bloc to his travel plans.

Try getting up to Hull from Wales on a Friday when you face roadworks on the M5 and M1. 4 lanes on the M1 near Nottingham need one breakdown or bump and it stops, but I just kick back and think of the Nirvana of the KC stadiums, 2 for the price of one!

Amazed you missed the target again young man.

So...not a real fan, then?

Geographical hint: the M1 near Nottingham is not on either the direct and indirect route from Swansea to Salford. That is maybe why there were so few Hull fans there.

As long as its the highest attended RL game in the world in 2016 thats all the matters..

State of origin game 1 got 80,251 this year, the NRL grand final can't get more than 83,500...thats the target imo

i was thinking something similar the other day. This is really something to shout about instead of counting blocks of red seats.

Watching one of the usual crowd moaners this morning tweeting from an entirely empty ground in Sydney.

Oddly the NRL remains marvellous as, later, so will the darts.

One day RL fans will stop moaning about crowds. One day.

Including people moaning about people moaning.

I used to work for the sponsors and a lot of mates are still there - all head office staff got an email encouraging them to buy two tickets for £20, but judging by the amount of people who have asked me if I want 'their' allocation, I don't think they are flying off the shelves.

Still, hopefully a few discerning folk from the Magic Sign will be there for what'll be a great afternoon!

Apparently without a trace of irony or self-awareness, Andy Wilson tweeted earlier about there being a lot of negativity around RL at the moment.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Not sure if everyone knows that every professional club has money deducted from its RFL funding for Wembley tickets. In League 1 it is 100. I imagine they include these as tickets sold whereas of course that is not necessarily the case.

Picked mine up from Hemel yesterday and there is still a huge pile left. With only a couple of days to go I can't see them all being snapped up.
