  1. That is the elephant in the room there
  2. Depends which Leeds team turns up and when. A none existent start like last week could see us out of sight by the end of the first half.
  3. If the side who is 11th in the Championship is Grade A we'll all be much happier!
  4. I think a big reason why they are doing this is because by showing all 6 games, there is a big risk the main game chosen is far from a classic. Instead of switching over to a soap on ITV, a lot of this could just be Sky being able to say "look there's still this for you to watch".
  5. I think that is an unnecessarily pessemistic take. Salford have a real job on to get from where they are indicitavely to an A Grade - financially and fanbase being their biggest hurdles. Its a paradox to argue that the bar is set so low yet is simultaneously unachievable.
  6. Yeah, because between 2 part time leagues the difference is far less than between a full time and part time environment. Especially when the FT League is the one which brings in near as makes no difference all the money and needs to be prioritised accordingly.
  7. Britain has always moving to the metric system, inch by inch...
  8. As ever, freebies have to turn up
  9. I think the sport needs to be wary of ending up in a reductive "we provide this" mentality, especially with gradings coming in. Only (English) Grade A clubs will be getting TV money at this rate.
  10. 22 unanswered points is good. Still not convinced though. Leigh bottled it when they went for 2 despite already being 3 scores ahead and having nearly 10 minutes left in second half. Weak mentality.
  11. Surely that is a normal media point for that game last night? Both are contenders trying to break the big 3 who have come close recently.
  12. I actually think the interesting comparison with Catalans would be Cornwall. The latter takes longer and is harder to get to (direct flights at a minimum). Yet its in England so you can't use the "no broadcast money" argument. Despite that, they have been asked to sit out a competition all of their peers have entered - this is the attitude at the heart of it. English RL clubs are used to, from 100 years of history, a competition that involves an average of up to 2 to 3 hours each way (4 for the rare Cumbrian trips) coaches every week. We don't do internal flights, nor do we do European games. Culturally the game isn't on that level and it feels alien.
