  1. The other lot (B & I Lions) are also touring in 2025 and tickets for all games ( tests and tour games) went on sale two weeks ago. They will be sold out before League has announced a schedule. Weren’t IMG supposed to be sorting this out?
  2. 1. 1978 second test at Odsal….Peter Foxs dads army gave it to the aussies. The aussies went home and transformed their game and that was that. 2 1985 Challenge cup final 3 2023 NRL final
  3. 1969-70 season, three consecutive games that got progressively worse both performance and weather wise 19 Feb RLCC round 1. Rochdale Hornets 2 York 0 21 Feb RLCC round 2 Doncaster 5 Rochdale Hornets 5 25 Feb RLCC round 2 replay Rochdale Hornets 3 Doncaster 4 19 points in three games. I think Hornets were saving themselves for their next game 28 Feb Rochdale Hornets 6 Wigan 35. Wigan must have been poor if we managed to score as many as 6 points! Four games in 10 days…and the players were part time…eat yer heart out Super League.
  4. You dont know torrential rain unless you saw games at Watersheddings. What you experienced was spitting. Ernest Shackleton prepped for the Antarctic at Watersheddings.
  5. Not sure but the great Joe Corsi who was in the hornets team eventually left hornets for Oldham once he struggled to make hornets first team
  6. Is there a optional upgrade to rag pudding (oldhams own)
  7. That was the second half at seagulls…..it started raining and Burleigh ran away with the game.
  8. Positive news from Dale…..local philanthropist emerged as potential owner who has track record of investing in community assets. My guess is it would be good news for both clubs.
  9. 12 noon to 2.30pm on a rainy Saturday…with the absence of alternatives it was that or going shopping with partner. I didnt have to toss a coin.
  10. Havent had to switch games to Tugun for a while. Major pitch renovations at Piggabeen over the summer….pitch was looking great at the weekend but major problem is the creek that runs by. Doesnt take much rain for it to flood the low lying ground.
  11. Impressive list….next time you are in brisbane you must tick off Albert Bishop Park (The ‘Bish’ home of norths) and the newly renovated Langlands Park (easts tigers) both easy to get to. You could also expand to the Brisbane League with Emerson Park (Valleys) and Frank Lind Oval (wests panthers)…iconic names from the past. But by far the ‘not to be missed’ ground is Ron Stark oval at Dunwich on North Stradebrook island - home to the Straddie Sharks. Catch the ferry from Cleveland. Wynnum Manly take one Q cup game there every year. Right by the ocean with a large hill, leagues club, large trees providing shade and stunning views. You wont want the game to end. The island is also home to koalas in the wild and one of the best places for whale watching (coincides with the rugby season). The next expansion in NRL should be Dunwich!
  12. Reported on channel 9 that Reynolds expected to be back for Broncos on Friday.
  13. Latest forecast is for very little rain on Friday so that should help. Also not much else to do on Good Friday so maybe it will be closer to capacity. And latest team news is Reynolds is expected to play.
  14. Player welfare? Dont they want to be out after dark in Huddersfield?
  15. Doubt it will sellout but expect 40,000. After Titans start ( some would say their problem is they have yet to start) and TFs injury I think they will struggle to make 20,000. Id guess 18k if its decent weather but forecast is for rain. 6.30pm Kick off. Its getting on for 2 hours drive (3 hours by train) each way from Redcliffe (well Kippa-ring, there is no station in redcliffe, another 10 minute drive) but in holiday traffic can be considerably longer. And trains are usually disrupted over easter for maintenance. Dolphins fans will be lucky to get home before turning into a pumpkin.
