Doncaster Rugby League prop forward Mark Castle spoke to the official website following Sunday’s victory at Hunslet Hawks.

Castle was the scorer of the winning try in the 77th minute to secure Doncaster an impressive 30-22 victory at South Leeds Stadium.

The Dons now sit second in League 1 and Castle was pleased with the performance of the side.

“I can’t remember the last time Doncaster won away at Hunslet, it is always nice to get a win, especially against a club I played for last year,” said Castle.

“It was nice to get the try, I enjoyed my time with Hunslet, but it is always good to score against your old team.

“I have to thank Kyle Kesik for all the tries, he just keeps setting me up for them, it’s three from three now as well! I don’t think I’ve ever done that in my career, so I will have to try and keep it up.

“We started the season a bit slow, but we have almost got all of our troops back now and we are on a bit of a roll, we need to keep it going and keep composed now.

“I’m still not impressed with how I am playing at the minute, I missed all of pre-season and hadn’t trained much before I was back playing.

“It will take a while before I am back to my best, but I will be at the business end of the season when it counts.”

The prop forward also spoke about the impact of the players who have come back from injury recently, the new recruits at the Dons and looked ahead to the fixtures over the next few weeks.

He said: “We knew from the start that we were down on numbers, we knew what quality we had to come back, so it is nice to get the majority fit and good knowing that we have more to come too.

“Everybody that has come in has done a job, we have all gelled straight away, both Brad and James Delaney and even Ryan Wright who came back in on Sunday all clicked straight away.

“The team spirit here is really good, we are going well and we just need to keep it up now.

“We definitely have winnable games coming up, we can’t take anything for granted though, we need to keep doing what we have been doing and hopefully the points will pile up.
