Farmduck
I'll be interested to see what sort of kennel of celebrities they assemble to call the games. Corey Parker's retiring this year but I think he's already signed with Fox Sports. I can't remember the last time I watched Channel 7 so I don't know which unemployables are currently being passed off as "personalities" there. roughyedspud
i read somewhere that 7 where looking at getting Andrew moore & dan ginnane as main callers OLDHAM RLFC the 8TH most successful team in british RL
Farmduck
I never listen to radio so I don't know what those 2 are like. I can't remember who they had last time - Voss? and ......? In 2013 they only needed to "top and tail" each game so they had a 3-man panel made up of a rotation of about 6 ex-players. I suppose SKYNZ will get the NZ rights so they might throw some of their on-air people into the deal - Darryl Halligan, Ritchie Barnett, Awen Gutenbiel. roughyedspud
Ive heard andrew moore on 2gb before he was sacked and moved to abc,and i listen to dan on triple every week...happy with both of em.. And yeah i suspect they'll put together somekind of panel show..guess blocker roach will be on there as hes close with andrew moore..and ginnane might bring ryan girdler with him from triple m? Basically cherry pick anyone not contracted to 9 or fox OLDHAM RLFC the 8TH most successful team in british RL

I only ever watch the Fox coverage of NRL but I don't think Channel 9 has a clear heir to Ray Warren.

Farmduck
How about 7 offer rabs a 5 week contract? Please God NO!!! where's Buffy the Vampire Slayer when you need her? What are the odds on Stevo doing a gig down under? Depending on who gets the rights, I would expect some Brit commentators or colour men, ideally Carney and/or Wells. Steve McNamara will be available, knows all the Brit players and all the NRL players.

GeordieSaint
Yes. if true the scottish lads will know they are alive! They'll be a little sore after 3 games against those sides... it'll also be a massively impressive feat if they qualify as Tonga and Samoa will be very different propositions in the Southern Hemisphere - brutal group. Odsal Outlaw
Is it 3 through from Group A & B and one through from C & D to give QF's? donny donny
In theory France should only need to beat Lebanon to get to the Quarter-Finals. Same with Scotland and beating Tonga although thats probably a more difficult task. Top 3 from Group A and B progress along with the winners of group C and D. Lebanon are the ones who appear to have been shafted, if these do turn out to be the groups. On the whole though, everyone has something to play for. These groups haven't been announced yet so might not be true if the information being leaked over the past weekend turns out to be false but several papers have reported things which match up. PNG and Fiji are in the 3 teams groups up against the weakest squads in the cup while France and Scotland get pinned by Aus/ENG/NZ/Samoa. 3 Teams qualify from that group. Basically France need to beat Lebanon to get to the quarter final. Arguably, that is easier than trying to get the one place in a group with potentially PNG and Wales in PNG.
