Fax struggling a bit at mo with a few players out of form. Defence is very poor and has seen Swinton and Workington both put 30 on Fax at The Shay. Coould be a very high scoring game. Would not surprise me if Widnes scored 70. Widnes to win by 30+ going on current form.

Halifax 12:18 Widnes at half time.

Lets hear what Betts has to say about the officials this week then.

This world was never meant for one as beautiful as me.

Touch Judge/Linesman call them what you want but its a shame they cant see a forward pass by a good couple of metres. However thats the way it goes and Fax have won games on the back of poor decisions and this time maybe lost. Its just if somebody is getting paid to do a job you would expect them to see something so obvious.

In the Dewsbury v Wigan game today, referee Chris Campbell gave 13 forward pass calls. It was actually refreshing to see the son of former Super League official Dave Campbell back his own judgement in a consistent manner.

Fingers crossed he makes it all the way to the top. I wish him all the best.

You mean this Dave Campbell?

They certainly won at Fev the other week on the back of a very dubious decision,

Think you will find the Fev man was way offside and made no intention to get bck the 10 from the video I have seen. You can blame the officials or you can blame your team for not making the effort to get back the 10 and giving a match official the option to award a penalty. But Fax like all teams have won and lost games on the back of poor decisions. Thats just the way it is. Its frustrating, but at the end of the day Fax should have beaten Widnes, but did not due to their mistakes and failings. The game is played over 80 minutes and a team cant really blame the match officials for losing, when they themselves could/should have done better in attack and defence.

I've seen the video too and he wasn't yards offside.  He may have been a pace offside. But then Fax had been offside in the same position throughout the game.  The Fev coaching staff could hear the touch judges telling the ref "offside right" "offside left" and he was ignoring them.  it was a touch judge who gave Davies offside and the ref only awarded the penalty when it was clear Fev were going to score what must have been the winning try.  Even your coach on Rugby AM tacitly agreed with this interpretation.  You were lucky, Fev were unlucky. Let's hope the luck evens itself out at Blackpool!
