  1. We're not anything special but our style of play is better than I've seen in years and hopefully two overseas players arriving in a few weeks time,I'd have to be hopeful of a top 4 finish. I wouldn't have said that for 60 minutes of last week's game though !
  2. Can you give his side of the story?
  3. So of all the things to stir you it's a flag. No i'm not involved in the club you got me there but i've got eyes and i can see a bloke who is working hard to push this club forward. The last chairman however good he was was invisible , and i don't know Graeme either but maybe he's put his hand high in the air and admitted he doesn't know everything but he's prepared to learn and guess what he's got a rugby man in Garry Murdock at his shoulder. As you say somebody should step up but they haven't have they so we should give the bloke a bit of credit because it can't be an easy job. You say he's put no money in but how much money has he brought in from other sources? You're in the know so it'll be interesting to hear your views, i'm always open to hearing people's views doesn't mean i have to agree with them.
  4. I think you're on your own there , most folk can see what a good job he's doing. If you read his post earlier he had tried to reason with the lad with the flag but he wasn't playing ball . It's really hard to put out a good product in this area while balancing the books but everybody at the club are striving to make it happen .
  5. Agreed. Not the one spared prison ? Another one? I can't keep up with all their imports , I'm sure there's fewer come across the channel in dinghies than through the gates at the Recre !
  6. Shame they couldn't come to some sort of resolution. If the sponsor was adamant he didn't want the board moved and the lad wouldnt budge on moving the flag there's not a lot you can do. I hope it's not a question of losing a sponsor for a couple of hundred quid because we all know how much we spend per season to go to home games nevermind what we spend going away.
  7. Your handling was terrible. Apart from a couple of tries from slick passing you didn't threaten that much. I expected your big pack to give us a hard time but on the whole we coped with them well. I believe you've got loanees in the halves which is maybe why you were a bit disjointed .
  8. Well we definitely started better , we defended well up to the last few minutes and the forwards ran with more purpose so much better. Their ball security was appalling and we played some great rugby. Big games from Scholey, McNicholas, Key, C Taylor but Burns makes a big difference and he was the best by a good way. Looking forward to the new signings , maybe wishful thinking but would be nice to see em against Cornwall with another win under our belts as Hunslet are there for the taking.
  9. You'd think he'd have a day off but he's garbage all the time and we seem to get him all the time!
  10. Well they've known it was coming so no excuse for calling it off.
  11. I watched them against Oldham and they've got a biiig pack. Some hefty props but not much else. What can you say apart from the obvious? We need to start much much better than we have been, defend our line better than we have been and control the middle better than we have been. I think we'll be too good in the end but not by many.
  12. Ponepate Pongia (Tonga A) and Zarrin Galea (Malta) internationals respectively to Workington.
  13. He said 3 or 4 before these 2 were announced but they're assessing the severity of our injuries before committing to any more. A prop in the Tyler Dickinson , Jamie Acton mould is top of my list.
  14. I've had a bit of time to think about it and I'm still of the opinion we were outmuscled by an enthusiastic young team..that's worrying. They tired late on and we looked more like a decent team to pull away. On the positive side Brad Taylor got busy second half and sauntered in for his tries in the manner of a talented lad. Tyrer tried really hard from some unpromising positions and Henson and Bradley took control . Walker at loose when your pack isn't dominating was a mistake. Looking forward to our new additions in positions we need to strengthen and Burns and Stephenson can't come back soon enough. We dodged a bullet today.
  15. Yeah but not at loose forward. If you've got 3 halves in your squad only 2 can play, the other stays at home.
