  1. Merge with Doncaster and change the name to South Yorkshire Steelers and move to Rotherham or Barnsley or somewhere. Eagles havent a ground and the cost issues for Doncaster at Lakeside are well documented. Problem solved and the super league big wigs would love it too. Its a win win all round.
  2. Alls rosey in the garden then, makes you wonder why the BOD bothered putting out a statement, they should have just asked you.
  3. Sounds like Owlerton and a drop into Championship 1 is the only viable option unless the millionaire sheikh at Sheffield United will take them in for free. The uncertainty for the players has been apparent in the recent poor form theyve had, so at least now we know why. Might have a few quid on Dewsbury on Sunday depending on what start they have.
  4. An international team full of Aussies who cant get in their national side - just what the game needs.
  5. We'll be battle hardened for the world cup opener then, nothing like hammering a team full of part timers to prepare a side. What a farce, they'd have been better off playing a team made up of players from the Championship.
  6. Regardless of the rest of the criteria for entering super league, if you go on appearing in a final or winning the NRC, only Batley, Widnes, Barrow and HAlifax, plus Toulouse who are now exempt from the criteria (amazing!) can apply. Batley wont apply, Toulouse and Widnes are definite shoe ins and the RFL have been dying to get a cumbrian side in there too, so Barrow could also be in the mix. The only sides under threat in super league are saints (no way will they let them go down, hence the move to widnes til the stadiums built) Salford, Cas, Wakey and Hull KR, i would add harlequins and crusaders to that list but the RFL will not turn their back on the "development" club farce they have created. Whatever happens, Wakefield or Cas, or possibly both will almost certainly be coming to join the championship party!
  7. Batley are fresh from a 2 week rest and with Josh Griffin and Kyle Wood set to boost the ranks on loan from Huddersfield will be tough to beat. We generally have the upper hand in clashes at post office road in recent years - this is a different Batley side than in the last few seasons, dark horses for the title in my opinion this year and should not be taken lightly. Ill go Featherstone 16 Batley 38.
