  1. The owner of Hull FC has stated the sport is unsustainable, bar a couple of clubs with wealthy benefactors. It seems Hull FC are still repaying the Covid loan. They do not own their stadium and match days means the external takings go to either/both soccer club/Council. The attendances are decreasing yet despite the off - field situation they are granted an A grading. Struggling to find how the sport improves if the 'big ' clubs are in decline.
  2. I thought he was sentenced,at Tamworth Court,Australia, last September for that. He was ordered to stay away from alcohol in public.

  4. I don't think they got involved at Salford when a number of players, businesses, and organisations were not paid. Same CEO may be key.
  5. It's a bit rich this criticism of Salford/Salford Council coming from followers of Wakefield. https://www.wakefieldexpress.co.uk/news/people/wakefield-trinity-castleford-tigers-and-featherstone-rovers-to-receive-ps2m-cash-boost-each-3476262 Been some bickering amongst Super League club followers since IMG reimagined the Super League.

  7. I seem to remember it was inferred,by Ian Lenagan, that Castleford should have addressed the problems... https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2018/oct/19/zak-hardaker-rehab-drink-driving-wigan It now seems all the clubs, and Sporting Chance, have failed in the rehabilitation. Not good publicity for the sport...
  8. I read it.Chelsea and Formula 1. I benefited. Learned a new word. Sophistry.
  9. Things are certainly being reimagined since IMG jumped on board. plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.
  10. Seems relevant to IMG and owners of Super League clubs. On topic - never took Devereux seriously since the charity box incident at the SPOTY awards in the 90's. Don't think Barton has got that low - just yet.
  11. I haven't seen the latest stuff that has happened because of IMG's involvement. It isn't of benefit solely to Super League clubs though,I bet. Who does run the game, now?

  13. The death was 2019.It appears some advice is to be given for the campaign ahead in 2024. Awful publicity for that club and the sport. Could be some vigorous drug searches for those entering, and leaving France,if connected with rugby league. Trying to silence comments - given the BBC reported it - is also slightly unsettling.
  14. Amazingly prescient reading the news concerning Batley Bulldogs on the BBC website News section, while silence seems to be the plan from officialdom. https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/drugs-will-be-killer-18534404
  15. Newcastle Thunder hold another fans forum/update on Monday 4th December. I cannot see any fixtures being released until it is finalised if they are in,or out,of the 2024 campaign. If the season ain't starting until March, maybe January is when the fixtures are released.
