2016 Charity Shield - Bunnies v St George

Recommended Posts

Kicks off in about 30 minutes.

Glorified trial which goes back 30+ years. Originally it was a fundraiser for the Sth Syd and St George Hospitals.

Both sides are below full strength with players away for the Indigenous v All Stars match. Last chance for Damian Cook and Cameron McInnes to claim Issac Luke's #9 jumper. Souths missing Reynolds, Keary and all Burgesses.

Brilliant work by Nightingale to bat the ball back from over the dead ball line. That'll be on YouTube.

Why isn't Nightingale in the World All Stars, would be my question.

Plus Inglis , Alex Johnson, Kyle Turner & Dave Tyrell. But there are a few kids in this Souths side who I think will do good things in 2016, Our squad doesn't concern me to much it's our Coach who worries me.

Cameron Mcinnis, Damian Cook & Paul Carter are very good options at No.9 for 2016.

I watched Mcinnis a lot as a junior and thought he had the world at his feet back then , He hasn't really taken the next step since his debut but I sense this will be his year.

On the other hand I don't believe Cody Walker has any future at Souths.

Carter will spend most of the season suspended anyway. He got his dad's thug gene. Hooker rotations will be interesting this year with the reduced interchange. Cody Walker? If a 6 or 7 hasn't cracked NRL by 26 then it's not going to happen.

I tend to agree on Carter but I enjoy watching him play he brings a lot of energy.

I thought Zane Musgrove was good for the Bunnies. Probably be in the 20s this year. At 19, he's already 109kg and he looks skinny. Michael Oldfield played FB and went well. Cook and McInnes were both good in the 9.
