CAMERON NOT WORST PM EVER, ONLY SECOND WORST

Utter nonsense. I'm not one to go on about lefty-liberal bias but this is a classic example.

The only thing you can say about Cameron vs Thatcher is that at least Thatcher didn't cowardly slink away after gambling the nation to postpone a pathetic internal Tory party battle for the general election. Cameron is a pathetic cowardly thwaite.

He had no choice but to resign as far as I can see.

Even after promising to stay regardless of the result to fix it if it went wrong?

He's an utter wheezily king cnut, after stitching up the country to stop the Tory part having a civil war and losing an election he sneaked off and left the utter mess he created to someone else to sort out. At least Thatcher had some, if not many, principles.

Thatcher demolished manufacturing, Cameron has demolished everything that was left and then on top probably given Scotland the green light  to break up the UK.

At least Thatcher, although a disaster, had a modicum of brains, Cameron is just an utter and complete idiot of the highest order.

I think that at 25 + years since she went, we're getting a more objective view of Thatcher. Much of what she did has resulted in the mess we're in today.  She once said her greatest achievement was "New" Labour.  Well they went along with the Tory economic playbook, and look where it got them, and the rest of us.  She was a disaster for our country, she derailed the post-war settlement that gave us the welfare state, and despite the last Labour government's heroic efforts to rebuild, much of the damage was too far reaching.  I think we can safely say that Thatcher is unarguably the worst PM in the 20th century, closely followed by Chamberlain, who plunged us into a war for which we were totally unprepared and which effectively bankrupted our country, and ruined us as a major power.

“Few thought him even a starter. There were many who thought themselves smarter. But he ended PM, CH and OM. An Earl and a Knight of the Garter.”

Clement Attlee.

I don't think it's even close: Cameron was a reactive PM who achieved nothing that couldn't have been done better by somebody else and resigned in total failure.

Depends on who you ask doesn't it. In regard to Thatcher, most rankings done by independent academic studies have placed her either 1st or 2nd in the list of most effective PM's alongside Attlee.

I love it when people rattle off a list of poor developing countries like Cuba which is actually a communist country or Venezuela which again is a poor developing country with an oil based economy as standard-bearers for socialism whilst disingenuously leaving out countries like Germany the economic powerhouse of Europe or countries like Norway, Denmark and Sweden etc who always rank in the top 10 of countries with the highest standard of living. These rich developed countries like Germany, Norway and Denmark etc have a mixed based economy of state and private owned industries, high taxes on the wealthy and generous social welfare programs that benefit all of society. This is what we in Britain should be trying to emulate rather than going down the path of deregulation, privatization and austerity.

Well she was definitely effective in destroying Britains manufacturing industry. I'll give her that at least.

Replaced with call centres and wharehouse jobs paying minimum wage.

Exactly. Less money in the back pockets and disposable income for the working class to spend in the high street and to reinvest in britians economy. What a roaring success Thatcherism was :-(
