Hopefully a glorified training run. Two years ago on a Friday night after work, Rams part-timers held Wigan to 12-6 at the hour mark before they ran away with it.

My abiding memory of that night was when Karl Pryce moved to full back when the game was over as a contest. He clearly decided that tackling any Wigan player meant risking injury and he pretty much waved the last few tries through.

That's not the Karl Pryce I remember. Heart of a lion, that one.

I hope there is a great crowd and it's a great occasion.

The good folk of Dewsbury may get their first glimpse of The Brev. One to tell the grand kids about.

Half time - Dewsbury 4:36 Wigan.

Doesn't look like this will be another cup upset.

No contest.  Last twenty minutes very scrappy.  Seemed to be spent entirely In the Dewsbury 20, with perpetual repeat knock on's by both sides.  I think Wigan didn't feel the need to exert themselves any more.  I don't think Dewsbury were capable of exerting themselves at that point.  MOM Paul Sykes for Dews.  Why couldn't he play like that for Fev! :(

Wigan were 24-0 up after 18 minutes and coasting.

Then Shaun Wane decided to rest George Williams and Sean O'Loughlin (first game starting for both) and Wigan lost their fluidity and cohesion in attack.

As you correctly say the final 20 minutes were indeed just used as a training ground exercise.

Great to see the Wigan faithful travel in huge numbers despite the inconsistent start to the season.
