In the absence of a ground in York ....  at least to fulfill the fixture you could always play it away ......  Such a shame that something can't be worked out long term.....   we don't want to lose any clubs from the league but  especially those that have been around and entertained for years .....   I remember many a good game at Wigginton Road...  Come on' York' sort this mess out  !!!!

The way I understand the report in the Press CYC have an agreement/contract with YCFC to use Bootham Crescent every Sunday for rugby. If that is the case why aren't they enforcing it?

Guildford appears to be right about CYC, they are not to be trusted. It seems to me that they have some form of hidden agenda.

What a joke YCFC  and the Council regarding the none use of Bootham Crescent this Sunday. The football club and York City Council must have realised that the Knights would need to use the Stadium for the Play-offs.Is the same thing going to happen when (if) the new Stadium is built .In that case i hope the New Stadium does not get built.

The Knights were told in May by the stadium manager that the ground would be unavailable for this Sunday, Guildford himself even put a screenshot of the correspondence on Twitter (see below). Why did no-one from the club tell the RFL back then? Or at least try to sort it with the council/YCFC?

Can't always blame the council and the ground's owners, there's a common theme in all this comedy every single time, yet still people don't seem to get it. It's either basic ineptitude or purposeful mischief making for attention it seems.

I hear what you are saying but we were always going to be in the play offs but nobody could have known the fixtures as it depended where you finished. The same rules will apply next season

sometimes you have to take a step backwards to move forward

Maybe Guildford will be proactive next season and not leave it up to the council and the football club to fix his problems.

Let's face it, he knew that there *could* be a problem in May. Plenty of time to pick up a phone. But he said it himself in his interview, he waited and waited for an email confirming and when he didn't get one he booked the dates anyway. That's no way to run a business or team. Its asking for trouble.

Sounds like McGill has spat his dummy out again with the council due to the lack of progress with the stadium.

Read the article, it states that the Knights were given two months warning that this Sunday would be unavailable. Nowt to do with Jason as the Knights deal is with the council

Your reading of the email doesn't tally with mine Simon. I would like to see the email which does what this one says it will do. That is to CONFIRM the 24th as unavailable.

It says a friendly is likely and therefore the Knights wouldn't be able to play the game then. Whether it was confirmed or not I'd have been chasing them up just to cover myself if nothing else.

Can't just assume in business, never goes well that.

Here's the council's response:

So they are told in May. Reaffirmed in June and July. How difficult is it to pick up the phone, speak to the council and the football club, and come to an amicable arrangement?

Instead be ignores all the warnings and decides to book it anyway.

One person to blame, and surprisingly its the one who is always the s***stirrer.

It's not just about this Sunday's game, but also the games against Barrow and London are in doubt because the Knights have get permission from YCFC that there can play the games on them particular date's and if YCFC decline those dates where are we expected to play those games. The only loser's in this are Fordy the players who have put so much effort in to this season and now looks like it has been a waste of there time and effort. Thanks YCFC an York Council!!

And any normal owner would have been on the telephone to all parties involved the minute he knew that there might be a problem to arrange suitable dates. The problem is not with the football club or the council.

Looks like you're struggling to come to terms with the facts. If you're playing the blame game then there's only one person you can blame #Milky

Of course it's all Guilford fault, silly me.

Well, if he wasn't such a difficult man to deal with, then the council may have been more open to compromise.

Who's the General Manager these days? Why haven't they done anything on this matter for two months?
