  1. 1997 One, two, three... down you all go.
  2. Go on then...Not recently but there's still f loads in the trophy cabinet.
  3. Robbie doesn't have to justify his playing career to anyone, and it certainly can't be measured in gongs. Once seen, never forgotten.
  4. Give him a chance. Surely you don't want yet another Aussie no-one. With the right environment behind him he could well be what you're looking for. To me FC don't lack anything on the pitch other than a bit of mental steel, and Radford would put that into them I reckon. I suppose if you could get someone like Brian Smith then that would be different otherwise you might end up tracking Stevie Mac. And that ain't never going to end well.
  5. It's a non-story. Look at the wider context of activity and investment into the club.
  6. Both are taken as read when signing kids that come through from Saints then farmed out. Foster has some way to go on those fronts too. Both probably have felt abandoned by their home club, and maybe that dissolution has had a negative effect on attitude. Hopefully with a solid contract in the bag he'll show up as the player he looked when playing in the GF. I'm sure Brown knows what he's doing.
  7. Another good signing from Cummins. Gaskell is the right age with a good attitude and excellent skill set. He's also pretty quick and has had GF experience already. The extra bonus being that Addy probably won't have to cover the halves, meaning we've effectively got an extra forward as well. I think Addy will be a smashing player for us at 13, just needs to work a bit on defensive positioning. Aside from that he's got it all really. So that's... Gaskell Ferguson Carvell Blythe George Addy Donno Foster
  8. Well, as you ask... We're in a much stronger position today than we were in 1994/5.Aside from the monumental success in those years our gate has improved massively, our profile is immeasurably better and we are a community club - no doubt. And in addition to all that we've produced tons of SL players/coaches and internationals from our own academy. I don't think any of this would have happened without SL. At no stage have we had the benefit of a sugar daddy. I think your point has some merits but your choice of Bradford as an example is about as poor as it could be.
  9. It's a good point that has anthother slant. Before SL how many clubs could win the league? Let's be honest it was one, with an occasional blip. Today, right now, who is going to win SL this year? Warriors Rhinos Dragons Giants Wolves Someone said it's about excitement. Not only have we got the above, but there's about a five horse race for the last play-off spots. Also, I'd say youth development has increased massively since the inception of SL and as a direct result of it through the knowledge that clubs can plan for the long term. Also, it guarantees the presence of a club in London and France. Both very important for our game when taking the long view.
  10. He once famously tried to play the 'northern bloke card' by claiming, quite truthfully, that his wife Samantha was from near Scunthorpe (not Paul). What he failed to mention was that it was her ancient family seat of circa 400 acres with mansion house in north Lincolnshire from which she hailed. A half truth is a whole lie.
  11. That, my friend, is the understatement of the century. Great to see Foster sign.
  12. We'll be up there next season. I think we will be strong and competitive and improve as the season rolls. We shouldn't be over-looked.
  13. I've always had a soft spot for FC since I was 'charmed' as a boy by the support in/under the Threepenny Stand. Like to see Keighley doing well, reckon they were hard done to all those years ago by SL then almost criminally asset stripped by Leeds a few years later. In Oz any team with a Bulls connection.
