I think Country will win. Just seem to have more in form players. I'm in the "scrap City/Country" camp. When a tradition serves no purpose beyond the preservation of said tradition, it should be taken out behind the shed and shot.

Watching the QRL stream of the Q Residents v NSW Residents. These teams are selected from Q Cup and NSW Cup. I'm not sure why this game exists but this year it coincides with the Qld State 16s and 18s GFs so I guess it pads out a full day schedule for Brisvegans.

I don't know the precise selection criteria but they produce some odd results. I think it's just if you've played more State Cup than NRL this year, you are eligible. None of the PNG Hunters are playing for Qld but NZ Warriors NSW Cup players are playing for NSW. Elijah Taylor is playing for NSW even though he has played 10 Tests for the Kiwis.

Since this is purely a domestic comp the eligility has no effect on any other eligibility but I'm still not clear why this game is even on.

If this was here and played nearby I'd certainly go.

I realise there are plenty of people who see it as a both of an irrelevance with injury risk attached.

The whole weekend, of which this is a part, is a nice breath of fresh air in the pressurised NRL League rounds.

As a by product some bruised and battered players not playing get a chance for some r&r
