I was moaning to the wife about the dearth of quality dramas on TV these days, evening schedules seem to be soaps, reality TV or cooking progs. Then I stumbled across 'The Looming Tower' on Amazon Prime ... well worth a look

Great thing about catch up TV, box sets, Netflix, Amazon Prime means you aren't tied to a schedule - so some good things I've watched recently include Motherland, Life in Pieces, Two Doors Down, Hello Ladies - and some Seinfeld !

Just reading some Carl Hiaasen (Finished Bad Monkey, started Razor Girl) - maybe a bit lowbrow for some of our resident boffins on here, but very funny. Very reminiscent of Joseph Wambaugh - I had to check to confirm one is not a pseudonym !

I bought most of Lyn McDonald's oral histories around 15 - 20 years ago (1914, 1915 - The death of innocence, Somme, They called it Passchendale, To the last man) - going to try to re-read them in the next 12 months or so - seems quite apt.
